Job Description

Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:  Title: NAVGEM2 (Navy Global Environmental Model) updates for operational transition

1) Updates and testing of Fleet Numerical Meteorology and Oceanography Center (FNMOC) ISIS Database (DB) writing capability – using an existing ISIS instance at Navy Defense Supercomputing Resource Center (DSRC), ensure that NAVGEM 2 compiles against the FNMOC ISIS libraries and is able to successfully write fields to the ISIS DB instead of to an H5 file on disk.

2) NAVGEM Message Passing Interface (MPI) reproducer code – extract NAVGEM setup code to generate a test program that reads in NAVGEM restart information from H5 file, performs spectral transforms, and writes out restart information from H5 format (est 10 hours) to support MPI troubleshooting on FNMOC A2 platform.
