Job Description


SAIC is looking for a well-qualified Facility Manager (FM) to join an exciting program in Springfield, Virginia. The FM’s primary responsibility is to oversee the efficient operation of a customer site and to inform the SAIC Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) Leader and the customer of any condition affecting building services and facility or personnel safety and comfort. Specific areas of responsibility include vendor management, purchasing and inventory control, contracted maintenance, small project management.   As part of an integrated facility management team, the FM will ensure excellent customer service, be a team player and work effectively with on-site personnel, third party vendors, account team and all other necessary parties.  Plans and manages all aspects of the facilities function which may include but is not limited to maintenance, equipment, machinery, construction, building space allocation and layout, office services, leased properties and furnishings, and communication services.




  •  Effective management of facility personnel to ensure all operational requirements are satisfied.  The FM shall ensure the facility support staff provides excellent customer service to all personnel working within the facility;

  • Ensures timely notifications to the Chief of Security of any security related discrepancies (situation/event or security system casualty);
  • Ensures timely notification to the Chief Information Officer (CIO) of any casualty that affects the Information Technology (IT) infrastructure;
  • Manages the facility trouble call system to ensure discrepancies and support requests are addressed in a timely manner;
  • Ensures all maintenance activities are conducted with proper security escorts and oversight and provides early coordination with Security for any event that requires non-cleared personnel to enter the facility (i.e., Fire Marshal, maintenance & cleaning vendors);
  • Maintain office space assignments / reassignments as directed by the Chief of Staff (COS);
  • Coordinate with Chief Information Officer (CIO) personnel as necessary to relocate ay IT equipment;
  • Ensures all facility personnel authorized to operate a Government Owned Vehicle (GOV) are properly trained and adhere to relevant policies;
  • Provides monthly status reports per Contract deliverables;
  • Works closely with the Facility Program Control Analyst (PCA) to report on utility consumption, maintenance costs, material procurement, and contract cash flow as required by contract deliverables; and
  • Will be designated as the Property Custodian with responsibility over facility related end-items meeting the government’s accountability requirements.
  • Ensures services are in place to safely respond to emergencies affecting facilities operations.  Flexibility in work hours, as needed to address critical needs;
  • Evaluates job performance for service providers and conducts progress reviews in conjunction with the IFM Leader;
  • Development of Facilities Standard Operating Procedures, Emergency Response Plans, and other documents required to effectively manage a facility.


  • An active Top Secret clearance with eligibility for access to sensitive compartmented information (TS/SCI);
  • Seven years or more experience in Facilities Management in Corporate Real Estate environment. Experience must include overseeing a facility that had a certified SCIF and an IT data center with devoted support system such as emergency diesel generators, large scale Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) systems, HVAC systems for server rooms; and dry chemical fire suppression systems;
  • Shall have knowledge and experience with modern environmental control and lighting systems;
  • Shall have experience supervising dedicated facility support personnel and support vendors professionals;
  • Shall have experience operation MHE and the proper methods to move heavy office equipment (safes and furniture);
  • Bachelors and ten (10) years or more of related experience; Masters and eight (8) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and two (2) years or more experience; equivalent work experience in lieu of degree in Facilities/Property Management; and
  • Effective communication skills are paramount – both verbal and written.

Desired Qualifications


  • An active Top Secret clearance with access to SCI;
  • Successful completion of a Polygraph within the last five (5) years
  • Strongly desire experience managing a MHE qualification program;
  • Strongly desire experience with ICD 705 standards.  Experience can include design, construction, and/or maintenance;
  • Strongly desire experience managing a vendor providing armed/unarmed guard force services
