A READY FLEET – MODERNIZED, TRAINED AND SUSTAINED FOR GLOBAL DOMINANCE.

 

The US Navy Sailor 2025, Ready Relevant Learning (RRL) Content Conversion project will employ innovative instructional design and assessment strategies in conjunction with high-velocity learning solutions. The goal of RRL is to move training out of brick and mortar schoolhouses and provide the right training at the right time in the right way to improve the transfer of training to the workplace environment.

Work is estimated to start in March 2020 and positions will be located at SAIC facilities in Cookeville, TN along with remote opportunities in Tennessee, Virginia, Florida, DC and Maryland.

 

Minimum education and experience requirements will vary depending on role and level. All positions require U.S. citizenship and some positions will require a security clearance.

 

 

 

JOB DESCRIPTION: In this position, you will serve as a senior 3D modeling developer. This candidate will lead a team of 3D artists following SAICs defined 3D production process.  The ideal candidate will possess strong 3D modeling and texturing skills and a background in producing models with varying levels of detail for use in multiple delivery types. The candidate would be required to adapt quickly to changing requirements and new technologies.

 

The chosen candidate for this position will:

 

  • Develop high fidelity 3D models

  • Work with technical documentation and Subject Matter Experts to estimate 3D modeling requirements

  • Maintain and follow SAIC’s 3D production and quality processes

  • Experience with version control software, such as Perforce and project tracking software, such as Jira, is required.

  • Take ownership of his/her work as a highly motivated self-starter.

  • Possess a demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines, prioritize workload, manage time efficiently, and work in a team environment.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university and 10+ years of related experience is required. A combination of education and work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

REQUIRED SKILLS: Demonstrated experience with and proficiency in 3D modeling and texturing, Maya or 3D Studio Max, Adobe Creative Suite experience is required.

A portfolio with examples of game or eLearning content is required (web-accessible samples are preferred).

MUST BE ABLE TO OBTAIN A SECRET CLEARANCE.

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Experience with the life cycle of design and programming of training content from concept through project completion

  • Previous experience developing for mobile and AR/VR game applications

Experience with Substance Painter or Mudbox
