SAIC has an immediate opening for a Logistics Specialist to support life cycle maintenance and integrated product support a technical refresh of IT assets in the USCENTCOM Area of Responsibility (AOR). The successful candidate will have specific, recent and extensive experience providing logistics support in a DoD environment. Candidates must possess a comprehensive working knowledge of Department of Defense Logistics Systems including packaging, shipping, receiving, supply processes, stock control, warehousing, inventory management, procurement, and physical distribution of inventory. Additionally this candidate would be responsible for creating/updating physical and logical diagrams of IT equipment at all sites. Required travel for this position is estimated at 35% and would primarily be to Doha, Qatar.
Duties of the position include:
Move and/or coordinate the movement of project equipment and materials to the transportation delivery points, both commercial and DoD as required to guarantee delivery. Contractor is responsible for the completion and filing of form DD 1149 and the input of shipping information and data into standard (Remedy) trouble ticketing system (TTS).
Coordinating with various functional areas to ensure timely receipt, testing, approval, packaging and documentation of inventory to meet fleet requirements.
This position involves direct contact with customers and users, and demands performance that is both detail oriented and time critical
Use IT bar code resource management systems to actively manage the transfer of IT resources between USCENTCOM and forward site asset managers.
Produce detailed professional reports, to brief status of projects to senior leaders, and to provide statistical analysis for strategic planning and funding.
Track resource availability reports to the Team Lead and Project Manager.
Develop detailed project shipping plans to use the best method for shipping IT equipment and project materials to all countries in the USCENTCOM Area of responsibility (AOR).
Manage IT project equipment and materials. This management will include [receiving], processing, labeling, correlating, and safeguarding all project equipment and materials.
Creating/updating physical and logical diagrams of IT equipment at all sites
Record all model/serial/warranty information for new equipment into the Remedy database.
High School education with at least five (5) years' or more related experience.
Candidates must have knowledge and experience use of Remedy and Microsoft Visio
A clear understanding of DoD inventory management is critical to success in this position
Must possess and maintain a US Passport and be willing to travel approximately 35% of the time overseas. Primary location will be to Doha, Qatar.
Technical experience with testing equipment and peripherals is highly desired. Position will involve testing parts for functionality.
