Job Description


SAIC is seeking a Strategic Planning Consultant to join the team in Picatinny, NJ.

The Strategic Ping Consultant oversees the development and execution of long-range strategic plans and objectives of the organization by formulating strategic courses of action to maximize the organizational unit's leverage within its market. 

Additionally, the SPC job responsibilities will include: 

  • recommending actions to be taken including significant capital expenditures
  • assist and promote acquisition activities 
  • develop and maintain relationships with program customer 
  • apply and/or develop highly advanced principles, theories and concepts 
  • assist the Army Program Office team with issues related to acquisition strategy for a team supporting program developing activities  
  • provide guidance to PMO leadership with regards to complex efforts in Army software efforts for scheduling, process management, resolving issues and innovative strategies based on past program history
  • assist with preparation of proposals, updating policies and reviewing acquisition procedures

The ideal candidate will exhibit an exceptional degree of ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness.  The SPC is viewed as an expert in the field and will participates with senior management to establish strategic plans and objectives.


Bachelors and eighteen (18) years or more of related experience; Masters and sixteen (16) years or more experience; PhD or JD and eight years(8) or more experience.

Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. 

Must be able to work in a fast paced environment; little room for spin-up time.  Need familiarity with Army acquisitions.  Role is part-time so individual must be able to deliver within a shorter work week.

Desired Qualifications


Previous background in Army acquisition activities at high levels.  Must be able to understand and administer a contract and resolve issues as acquisition plans evolve.  Must understand proposals from a customer issuance perspective. 

Willingness to travel to APG or Fort Belvoir (VA) to meet with customer to discuss acquisition strategies.
