Applies knowledge of flight procedures and aviation to assist in communicating goals and objectives to targeted stakeholders across functional areas, private industry and other governmental agencies. Assists with communication, informing and educating various stakeholders, private industry and general public on safety, capacity and efficiency improvements to the NAS based on advanced technology, innovative operational concepts and emerging business practices as well as all flight operational aspects of instrument flight operations projects and other flight operations applications resulting from the introduction of new technologies and concepts.
Strong technical skills in aviation, flight experience - UAS specific flight experience preferable, familiar with FAA regulations, most notably 49USC part 91 and part 107 as they relate to UAS. Understand the difference between civil, commercial, and public aircraft operations. Familiar with UAS systems, capabilities and emerging technologies. Possess. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to lead, guide and work with groups across lines of business that include federal and contract resources. Knowledge of UAS, including technology, operations, regulations, applications. Must be able to perform research on aspects of UAS to respond to inquiries.
Software Requirements: Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word – strong knowledge of Word including document formatting with headers levels and table of contents; creation of tables; document review functions. Microsoft PowerPoint – working knowledge of power point and master slide features. Microsoft Excel – working knowledge of spread sheets and basic excel functions. Knowledge of SharePoint, AdobeConnect, & Microsoft Project (preferred).
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in communications or related field and 5 years of experience in an aviation related field, such as air carrier operations, military aviation, air traffic control, instrument procedure development, or flight standardization board pilots. Bachelor’s Degree may be waived with 8 years of experience in performing the above duties.
Job location is 470 L'Enfant Plaza SW, Washington, DC 20024.
Required clearance is an SF-85P completed on site by the FAA.
