SAIC is hiring Tier II Help Desk to work in Aberdeen, MD on the High Performance Computing Modernization Program (HPCMP) !! 


 

Program Requirements:

 

In support of the High Performance Computing Modernization Program (HPCMP) Integrated Technical Services (HITS) task order contract, Team SAIC provides program management and technical support necessary to advance the services, capabilities, infrastructure, and technologies in the HPCMP, Department of Defense (DoD) Supercomputing Resource Centers (DSRC) supercomputing centers. Team SAIC is looking for Tier 2 Help Desk who will assist the program and user community with the effective and efficient utilization of HPC assets. The successful candidate will work along the side of leading HPC staff and researchers working to solve DoD’s most critical mission challenges.


 


Primary Responsibilities:

 


  • The successful candidate will provide hands-on support to the user community regarding optimal use of DSRC infrastructure and assist users with adapting their codes to new TI platforms. This will include analysis of utilization, SW application usage, troubleshooting of basic user codes, and performing trend analysis. 
  • Specific daily tasks include:
    • Participating in the installation, integration, acceptance testing, and on-going maintenance of our HPC systems and software environment. 
    • Installing and supporting COTS, GOTS, and open source software
    • Support the Enterprise Software Configuration Management tool by submitting all required change documentation and following all change management and security rules
    • Monitor daily/monthly/yearly usage trends for assigned software applications

 

Qualifications

Mandatory Skills and Abilities:

 


  • Bachelor and 0+ years experience.  Additional experience in lieu of degree.
  • Knowledge or experience with Help Desk or Desktop Support
  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to effectively interact with a highly skilled technical HPC support staff and users, internal staff, and management.
  • Organizational skills to balance and prioritize work in a dynamic work environment, and persistence to follow-through on tasks in the face of obstacles
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-faceted team, and leadership skills to guide and mentor the work of less experienced personnel

  


Clearance:

 


  • Must be able to obtain an interim DoD Secret Clearance prior to starting and have the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance

 


Desired skills:

 


  • Linux and general Unix operating systems concepts
  • Service Desk Experience
  • Experience installing and maintaining COTS/GOTS, and open source software
  • Experience knowledge of scientific programming applications in an HPC environment.
  • Experience with HPC job scheduling concepts and applications, such as Altair (PBSPro).
  • Familiarity with CUDA and related Nvidia Toolkits.
  • Familiarity with OpenGL and related SDKs. 


Certifications:


  • ITIL Cert is a plus but not required
  • DoD 8570 Certifications a plus but not required
