Description
SAIC is seeking a Senior Enterprise Data Architect located in either Kansas City, MO or Fort Collins, CO. This individual will work closely with a large team of architects to improve the ways data are defined, developed, managed and used. This position will support a Federal Civilian government agency in delivering its mission. The role requires deep data architecture subject matter expertise and a close partnership with federal employees. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data architectures, data governance, data modeling and design, data security, metadata management, data integration, data standards, data quality and data warehousing. Candidate should have experience in evaluating and applying new data technologies and standards. Candidate must be comfortable managing client relationships and expectations within a within a complex organization where multiple stakeholder needs must be balanced. Specific experience in cloud-based data architectures and migrating data from traditional to cloud-based solutions is desirable. The candidate must be flexible, patient, disciplined, and positive. Excellent written and oral presentation skills are needed to guide and influence others.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work effectively and influence a large organization with diverse functional and technical disciplines including business representatives, enterprise architects, systems engineers, business analysts, developers, testers, and systems operations staff.
Work and communicate with senior business and IT leaders to present ideas and gain alignment on data capabilities and implementation plans.
Coordinate resolution of highly complex problems and tasks, selling new ideas and concepts in support of operational goals and objectives
Provide data-related technical and analytic guidance to key stakeholders
Integrate and translate complex concepts into tactical action plans
Guide high-level enterprise data analysis, evaluation, design, integration, documentation, and development activities
Define means of automating the full lifecycle of data management across the enterprise
Qualifications
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree (4 years experience in lieu of degree) in related field coupled with 10+ years of related experience
Data-related technical expertise, including expertise with large enterprise data development practices, large scale data governance and process improvement
Executive communication/presentation, relationship management, project management, strong analytical skills
Experience with multiple data development and management methods
Experience with business transformation and processes, including business process improvement methods and tools
Ability to obtain a government National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) public trust background investigation
Desired Qualifications
Data Management Association (DAMA) International Certified Data Management Professional (CMDP)
Other data-related certification for analytics, big data, cloud, or specific technologies
Experience in migrating data solutions from traditional data centers to cloud hosting
Experience in driving the introduction and adoption of new enterprise-level data platforms and tooling
Experience with enterprise-level metadata definition management
Experience in large-scale, automate test data management
Government consulting experience
