SAIC has an exciting opportunity for a Datalink Engineer to support PdM TUAS on Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL. In this role you will provide management oversight and technical expertise for datalink system development and sustainment of systems, subsystems and components. Datalink systems consist of modems, radio frequency equipment, antennas, radomes, interfaces, communication protocols, and EMI/EMV/EW-hardening design techniques.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage cost, schedule, and performance of contractor developed datalink systems baselines and modifications.Coordinate with sister product offices for government furnished equipment development, production, and sustainment.
Monitor Problem Change Requests and assign priorities for resolution. Plan, coordinate, and execute changes to address field issues.
Interact directly with soldiers and contractors to resolve field issues.
Author Performance Work Statements for competitive datalink systems development task orders.
Evaluate development and modification approach of datalink systems and make recommendations to Tech Chief regarding best technical approach to support P3I and sustainment.
Communicate directly with contractors, engineers, logistician, program managers, and business team members in order to provide coordinated direction and tasking.
Provide concise reports to management on status, potential issues/risks, and participate in the development of contingency plans.
Other related technical tasks as they are assigned by Tech Chief or Product Lead.
QualificationsREQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors Degree (Aerospace, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, or other related technical discipline) and 2 years or more experience in Systems Engineering and/or Unmanned Aerial Systems.
