SAIC is seeking a Content Manager to facilitate the discovery and presentation of analytic intelligence, methods, and geospatial data. Collaborate with internal and external content producers to understand and capture the characteristics of a variety of GEOINT content, facilitate proper metadata tagging and service enabling of that content, and compliance with relevant standards. 

Duties include:
  • Work with content to enable online, on-demand access to data and information.
  • Understand customer requirements and ensure digital content is readily accessible and functional.
  • Applies knowledge of relevant customer organizations or operations (e.g., military, policy makers, and law enforcement), including how to translate requirements to provide appropriate output or response to meet customer needs.  
  • Discovers, identifies, and catalogs data and information to facilitate data access, integration, and interpretation.
  • Consults with content owners and subject matter experts to understand the general characteristics of particular data sets or content types.
  • Manage customer requests and requirements for content or data.
  • Verifies geospatial content and web services to ensure they include appropriate metadata and meet requirements or standards.
  • Develop and implement content registry classification, taxonomy, and ontology as driven by user feedback interviews, data pattern analysis, and industry standards.
  • Develops, applies, and ensures compliance with standard operating procedures, policies, and instructions regarding content.
  • Integrates compliant content into web sites.
  • Represents, translates, and manages customer requirements as part of the development of applications to support the discovery and access of content.
  • Has some understanding of the principles and methods of web technologies, tools, and delivery systems, including web security, privacy policy practices, and user interface issues.
  • Provide testing results back to development team, and work collaboratively on bug resolution.
  • Assess and analyze user feedback and provide tailored product enhancement solutions to the Development Team, through development lifecycle tracking tools such as Redmine, JIRA, or other as required.
  • Provide insight and advice regarding data, products, and services.
  • Develop, implement, and communicate the scope of services through briefings, Standard Operating Procedures, Help Guides, and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs).
  • Assess, develop, and implement strategies to further enhance the scope of services.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree and 10 plus years of experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and/or conflating complex metadata into a centralized repository.
  • Demonstrated experience of IC, and/or industry geospatial  formats, products, intelligence, and/or capabilities (i.e. file geodatabase, personal geodatabase, shapefile).
  • Demonstrated experience creating, updating, or maintaining effective geospatial metadata and keywords in a multitude of interfaces utilizing IC or industry standards and schemas.
  • Demonstrated experience creating and/or maintaining required documentation such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Customer Help Guides, and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs).

Desired Qualifications

 
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience of demonstrated product life cycle management skills including data backups, tool/capability testing, analysis of testing results and transpose to necessary fixes, and/or team collaboration for issue resolution.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience with the utilization of taxonomies and ontologies.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience assessing and analyzing user feedback to provide tailored solutions as necessary.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience building and implementing audit strategies to review metadata validity.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience with service validation ensuring proper compliance of Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) web services.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience with basic HTML web editing.
  • Experience with basic JavaScript, Python, and Selenium use.
