Description

Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) is seeking a RF Engineer to support the Project Management Office for Aircraft Survivability Equipment (PMO ASE) located in Huntsville, AL. The candidate will function as an integral member of a team of Government, Military, and Contractor Personnel that provides programmatic, engineering, and technical support to PMO ASE. PMO ASE is an acquisition management organization under the Program Executive Office for Intelligence, Electronic Warfare & Sensors (PEO IEW&S). The team provides acquisition management support, program research, engineering, logistics, and technical support for the development and fielding of world class aircraft survivability equipment.

 

The candidate will work within PMO ASE supporting designated Product Offices by providing management oversight and technical expertise for the physical integration of rotary-wing and fixed-wing aircraft, aviation related components, and aviation systems. Experience in aircraft and aircraft systems (e.g. maintenance, operations, performance, flight control, communication system, navigation system), and technical expertise in environmental testing in support of RF/GPS Components/Subsystems of military aviation platforms is highly desired. The candidate will be expected to provide detailed reports that exhibit the status, potential issues & risks, root cause & corrective actions, and planning activities for the integration of multiple products and components within various stages of the DoD Acquisition Life Cycle. The candidate must be able to communicate system design, analyses, support, and subsystem block diagram development for RF systems to support specific customer requirements. The candidate will evaluate Functional Test Reports for components and subsystems, test procedures and reports for component, subsystem qualification, acceptance testing, and procurement specifications for RF components and subsystems.


Additionally, the candidate is expected to have expert knowledge and experience with DoD, DCMA, PEO-Aviation, and PMO ASE platform and system integration practices and systems engineering processes and procedures.

 

   

Qualifications

Education Requirement(s):

  • BS Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience.
Job Description and Experience:
  • Knowledge and experience with Army aviation platforms such as Apache, Blackhawk, Chinook, UAS, etc.
  • Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS.
  • Provide expertise on system architecture and integration, requirements development, and system planning.
  • Experience with the testing, verification, validation and integration of weapons systems or countermeasure systems on aircraft; to include but not be limited to radio frequency (RF).
  • Operational knowledge of RF Lab Test Equipment (RF Receivers, RF Transmitters, Spectrum Analyzer, Network Analyzer, Oscilloscopes, Signal Generators).
  • Detailed knowledge of electromagnetic analysis (microwave/millimeter wave antenna theory, and propagation), RF theory (S parameters, matching, noise figure) and working familiarity with antennas, wave guides, gimbals, filters, complex electronics, RF signal processing, RF amplifiers, RF transceivers, Intermediate Frequency Processing, or serial rapid I/O interfaces
  • Required to review and provide RF expertise into the verification and validation of statement of work (SOW) and contract data requirements list (CDRL) requirements.
  • Experience managing initial hardware debug and integration of RF, analog, digital, and power supply subsystems.
  • Participate and work as a team member on Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of open source tools, system integration, and inter-system communications and messaging.
Clearance Requirement: - Must currently possess or be able to obtain a Secret Clearance.
