Join SAIC’s team in support of the missions of the USTRANSCOM Enterprise Data and Analytics Environment. This is new work to create a scalable, cloud-based Enterprise Data Environment for all military and commercial mission partners; to leverage that environment with adaptive Big Data Analytics technologies, including descriptive/predictive analytics, machine leaning & artificial intelligence; and then to transform, extend, and optimize the data environment for USTRANSCOM’s consumers and deciders.
Junior Software Developer designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs application software. Conducts analysis and collaborates with subject matter experts in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for information storage, processing, presentation, manipulation, display, or reporting. End product may be special use, customized, or commercial software. Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops autonomous services, desktop applications, web applications, scripts, and utility programs. Ensures software standards are met.
TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or Information Systems with minimum 2 years related experience. Other technical degrees, certifications and total experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirements.
US citizen, with active DoD Secret clearance. (Viable candidates with the ability to obtain and maintain a clearance may be considered.)
Experience working in Agile methodology Scrum software development teams.
Experience working with scheduling, performance, fielding, compliance with DOD IT standards, and security and accreditation.
Knowledge of DoD, USTRANSCOM and service component (i.e., Army, Air Force, Navy) logistics operations, transportation systems data, and experience with applicable IT technologies.
Applicable certifications in, but not limited to, agile development (e.g., Certified Scrummaster, Scaled Agile), practitioner cloud (e.g., Amazon Web Services, Azure), information security/engineering (e.g., Security +), and data sciences/tools including but not limited to R/RStudio, Python and SQL.
