Description
JOB DESCRIPTION: SAIC is currently looking for Systems Engineers to support launch system SE&I activities for the Launch Enterprise (LE) Directorate at SMC. This position is located at Los Angeles AFB, CA. Key aspects of this oversight will include the following:Job Specific Responsibilities:
· · Lead activities based on sound engineering and acquisition practices
· · Elicit and refine customer requirements
· · Ensure designs fully support requirements and are consistent with customer budget, schedule, risk profile and organizational/system constraints
· · Performs Systems Engineering activities including: concept of operations formulation, requirements definition, analysis and engineering, system architecting, system analysis and design, interface and data architectures, validation and verification, systems integration, system & operational performance analysis, Lifecycle cost analysis & estimation, and decision analysis. Responsibilities may include analyze and review designs and test plans, processes, procedures, functional and data requirements analysis, system analysis, and documentation preparation for complex systems. Areas of specialization include Guidance and Navigation systems, control systems, communications systems, digital communication protocol, electrical power distribution, control and transmission devices, signal processing, Instrumentation, electromagnetic compatibility and interference, electrical interfaces, avionics electronics, and Electrical Ground Support Equipment. Other areas of specialization include test tools, engines, mechanical devices, turbines, propulsion and fluids, Materials and Properties, contamination control, ordnance, Mechanical Ground Support Systems, life support systems, and environmental control. Individual must possess thorough working knowledge of space launch systems and processes. Individuals in this role must have a thorough understanding of launch vehicle processes and practices, launch site preparations flow and day-of-launch procedures. Also, the individual must have a general understanding of the NSSL vehicle launch interface requirements, launch transportation and processing requirements.
Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors in a STEM area and eight (8) years or more experience; Masters in a STEM and six (6) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and two (2) years or more experience.Desired Certifications:
