JOB DESCRIPTION:Produce ortho-rectified Electro-Optical (panchromatic and multispectral) and SAR imagery from NTM, tactical, and commercial sensors to assist with the analysis of littoral and riverine environments. Proficiency with image processing to take ground control, triangulate and ortho-rectify imagery. Analyze and edit Digital Terrain Elevation Data (DTED), Shuttle RADAR Topography Mission (SRTM) and LIDAR elevation datasets for accuracy. Generate an auto-correlate of the elevation dataset (digital terrain models (DTM), target spot heights, beach slope profiles, perspective scenes, contour maps, and temporal river water levels) utilizing stereo-pair imagery. Produce derived geospatial datasets and products using government algorithms. PROBLEM COMPLEXITY: Develops technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity. FREEDOM TO ACT: Work is performed without appreciable direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment. Completed work is reviewed from a relatively long-term perspective for desired results. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. IMPACT: Guides the succesful completion of major programs. Erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in failure to achieve major organizational objectives. LIASON: Represents organization as prime technical contact on contracts and projects. Interacts with senior external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations.
TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
TS/SCI Clearance (JPAS preferred). Bachelors of Science (Remote Sensing, Physical Geography, GIS or Imagery Science) and/or commensurate qualification, certifications, and experience of greater than 2 years in Stereo Analysis and Ortho-rectified sensor data (NTM, Airborne, and Commercial).
