JOB DESCRIPTION:Provide advisory services to the government Program Manager for effectively maintaining and enhancing METOC remote sensing capabilities. Maintain Research and Development Capability roadmaps. Evaluate capabilities of various imagery exploitation programs and collections systems to assess imagery requirements for the federal agencies producing METOC models. Develop and deliver reports and presentations regarding requirement gaps in environmental intelligence and Remote Sensing R&D strategies, as required. Advise the Program Manger on NSG policy and guidance. Use official forms to document program capabilities and requirements. PROBLEM COMPLEXITY: Develops technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity. FREEDOM TO ACT: Work is performed without appreciable direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment. Completed work is reviewed from a relatively long-term perspective for desired results. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. IMPACT: Guides the succesful completion of major programs. Erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in failure to achieve major organizational objectives. LIASON: Represents organization as prime technical contact on contracts and projects. Interacts with senior external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations.
TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: TS/SCI Clearance (JPAS preferred). 3 years of working experience dealing with satellite-derived remotely-sensed METOC data either ashore or afloat, Working knowledge or theory of METOC-related satellite-sensors, ground receivers and supporting requirements, 2 years of experience in analyzing METOC issues and clearly articulating test results via verbal and written communications using Microsoft Office products.
