Senior Software Tester

Description

Perform software testing as part of a Scrum team to create new web-based user information solutions. Contribute to the System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) by assessing functional and technical requirements, creating test plans, test cases, and test procedures, and documenting test results prior to deployment. Update, maintain, and improve test procedures.

• Develop and execute test plans, test cases and test procedures to ensure that all information systems products and services meet organization standards and end-user requirements.
• Develop test plans, test schedules and approaches.
• Conduct walk-throughs on test cases/scripts with Test Managers, Requirements Leads, Project Managers and Development Leads.
• Perform and lead tests of software and/or IT systems to ensure proper operation and freedom from defects.
• Perform verification activities on work products using defined methods, procedures and criteria with an appropriate verification environment.
• Document and communicate test results.
• Support analysis of test results and resolution of open issues.
• Document and work to resolve complex problems.
• Report progress on problem resolution to management.
• Devise improvements to current procedures and develop models of possible future configurations.
• Create test metrics and reporting.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree (or 4 years equivalent experience)

• 5+ years of software testing experience

• Master’s degree
• 3+ years of software testing experience

Desired Qualifications

• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
• Experience with QA tools and techniques, and bug tracking systems (e.g. JIRA, ALM)
• Solid understanding of test methodologies, test automation design, and Agile practices
• Experience documenting test plans and test cases
• Strong attention to detail and follow-through skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with test automation software, such as Selenium, desired
