SAIC is seeking a dynamic Cyber Team Lead to oversee tasking and management of a diverse technical cybersecurity, data analytics, and information assurance team.
The TDRS Operations Center (TOC) cyber team is in the middle of multiple IT Modernization projects as well as O&M for new and legacy NASA Mission environments. These combined project environments compose the NASA Space Network (SN), in close partnership with the NASA Near-Earth Network (NEN) and Deep Space Network (DSN).
This work is being performed under the new 5-year contract:
Space Exploration Networks Services and Evolution (SENSE)
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION: The Space Network (SN) Cyber Lead will coordinate tasking, give advice during engineering design reviews, and mentor cyber engineering staff in their daily duties.
Cyber Staff perform duties such as:
The lead can expect to be involved in a wide range of security issues including security architecture and providing technical inputs to tailor RMF controls.
The Cyber Lead has direct impact on work processes and outcomes, and frequently interacts with internal NASA personnel at various levels. The Cyber Lead plays a key role in the cooperative efforts across cyber and project teams.
A degree in computer science, information technology, mathematics, or a related technical discipline. Plus the requisite amount of combined Cyber, IT, and Networking experience.
Bachelors and ten (10) years or more experience;
OR Masters and seven (7) years or more experience;
OR PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience
In lieu of a degree:
Fourteen (14) years or more experience with a technical cybersecurity certification similar to Security+ CE.
Soft skills necessary to manage a technical team (tasking, scheduling, reporting, mentoring) and maintain clean open communications across a diverse set of mission environments, high level managers and customers, and project teams. Translation of technical requirements into laymen's terms.
Technical knowledge to give advice in peer design reviews, functionality report inputs, and as part of the engineering review board (ERB). Assisting with quarterly review preparations.
SOLID BASE OF TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE
Previous experience in systems engineering, network engineering, or administration of cyber security control platforms.
