Job Description


SAIC is currently seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Analyst in Middletown, RI to support activities within the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Division Newport Towed Array Equipment Handing Facility (TAHEF).


The Manager of Quality and Assurance is responsible for the quality assurance of components and products, manufacturing process quality, supporting quality system management, and customer problem/complaint resolution. The position is also responsible for leading continuous improvement activities.


Utilizing Quality Engineering techniques and practices the Quality Engineer will lead Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, and other Quality personnel on quality issues and analysis, corrective actions, and quality system improvement. The individual in this position will be responsible for maintaining and improving existing processes, as well as assisting in the design and development of new processes.


This is a hands-on position that focuses on daily operations with extensive interaction with other disciplines within the organization. The primary work focus will involve operating and maintaining the TAHEF quality control program.

  • Develops/reviews methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment
  • Develops/reviews inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; oversee quality assurance tests; and perform statistical analysis to assess control and manage risks of product quality
  • Establishes, documents, implements, and maintains a Quality Management System as a means of ensuring that product and services conform to specified requirements
  • Undertakes root cause analysis of incidents requiring corrective action. Ensure that corrective measures and deviation meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements
  • Provide recommendations for potential improvements of the TAHEF processes relating to fabrication, restoration, overhaul, test and evaluation, and certification processes and procedures
  • Prepare monthly and annual Quality Assurance Assessment reports in accordance with TAHEF Quality Management Plan
  • Support reviews of local contractor quality compliance and progress of Government outsourced TAHEF components to report to the Government for it to consider in its planning and inspection and acceptance execution duties
  • Develop Process Improvement Analysis Reports


  • High School diploma or GED
  • Relevant experience in Quality Assurance analysis and managing QA, QC, QMS, and CPI efforts in a production environment
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance

Desired Qualifications


  • Minimum 5 years of technician, business, or engineering experience (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of production processes, lean manufacturing and quality control techniques, 5S, Six Sigma, and Quality systems (e.g. QS 9000, ISO 14001, ISO 9001, AS9100)
  • ASQ CMQ/OE Certification, or ASQ CQA Certification, or ASQ CQE. Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
