SAIC has an opening for a Theater Battle Management Core Systems (TBMCS) Senior Engineering Technician to provide engineering and training support services in a comprehensive approach that sustains and improves systems and training fidelity associated with Marine Corps Tactical Air Command and Control systems in Bedford, IN.
Directly support the Marine Corps customer on NSWC Crane and Marine Corps program office with sustainment of the current TBMCS fielded system as well as help develop, field, and train an update TBMCS system to fleet Marine Corps.
Provides support for moderately complex technical activities related to systems administration and integration on Department of Defense command and control systems.
Performs moderately complex systems administration and integration using Department of Defense or commercially recognized systems administration practices and procedures.
Performs software installations, upgrades, patches and IAVAs in accordance with systems security manuals, software user’s manuals, and installation instructions.
Collects and reviews systems logs to assist in proactive identification of issues that may lead to failure.
Performs basic troubleshooting and fault.
Supports moderately complex data/media recovery through system backups and database archive operations.
Develops and maintains appropriate documentation including systems configuration checklists and historical data.
Maintains an existing training lab of DoD command and control systems as well as configuration managed common client workstations.
Assists government customer with development and implementation of updates to fielded TBMCS systems in the Marine Corps and labs.
Assists in training less experienced personnel
Required Education and Experience
Active DoD Secret Clearance.
AA and 6 or HS and 7 or more years’ experience.
All candidates must have comprehensive knowledge, expertise, and a minimum of three (4) years related experience to perform tasks related to: U.S. Military automated systems enabling cyber, Mission command (MC), and Command and control done in support of joint air-ground intelligence, targeting, plans, and ops.
Experience in joint communications including common operational picture (COP) and common tactical picture (CTP) design and management.
Knowledge is highly desirable of architecture design incorporating Army Mission Command Systems (AFATDS for joint fires, TAIS for joint airspace, DCGS-A for Army intelligence, GCCS-A for COP, CPOF for SA, AMDWS for air defense and protection) and Air Force AOC Weapon System Information Systems (i.e. TBMCS for ATO and ACO processing, GCCS-I3 for joint intelligence and targeting).
