DescriptionJob Description: Storage and Data Protection Services Team Lead will report directly to the Director of Data Center Services and will provide central accountability for all Managed Storage & Data Management Services which are those activities associated with the provisioning and day‑to‑day management of existing and future Data Center storage and data environment, providing a stable supporting infrastructure and effectively and efficiently performing procedures to ensure services meet contractual Service Level Requirements (SLRs). The position is located in the Orange County Data Center in Santa Ana, California.
-Provide daily technical oversight and direction to Managed Storage & Data Management Services team.
-Design, plan and implement Storage and Data Management Services solutions (e.g., shared and/or dedicated storage, tiered storage, platforms, supporting infrastructure, encryption, replication, security, scheduling) to meet customer Storage and Data Management Services requirements and SLRs.
-Implement process and procedures for effective monitoring and controlling storage capacity, performance, and availability, perform tuning and optimization configuration changes as required to meet customer requirements and SLRs.
-Establish procedures and perform data and file backups and restores as required to meet customer requirements and SLRs.
-Establish and maintain backup schedules, jobs and data retention policies to meet customer requirements and SLRs.
-Test and validate backup media to ensure incremental and full recovery of data in accordance with customer requirements and SLRs.
-Establish procedures and recover files, file system or other data required from backup media, as required or requested by the customer in accordance with contractual SLRs.
-Provide data replication services to the customer Disaster Recovery Data Center for requested customer applications and data.
-Act as Managed Services Engineering Lead for all Storage, Data Protection and Replication Services infrastructures and components.
-Establish reporting processes for monthly invoice requirements for all associated Managed Storage & Data Management Services and recurring contractual reports as required.
-Interfaces directly with Data Center Services Director, technical service delivery team leads, 3rd party IT service providers/sub-contracting personnel, other managed services delivery team members, and customer technical leadership interfaces.
QualificationsTYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and nine (9) years or more of related experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more of related experience ; certifications beneficial.
-10+ years’ experience designing, implementing and supporting Storage & Data Management services.
-7+ years’ experience in designing, implementing and supporting HPE SANs and storage solution architectures, certifications beneficial.
-7+ years’ experience in designing, implementing and supporting data protection and replication services architectures and components, certifications beneficial.
-5+ years’ experience in designing, implementing and supporting VEEAM service infrastructure and components.
-5+ years’ experience in designing, implementing and supporting HP Data Protector service infrastructure and components.
-5+ years’ experience in designing, implementing and supporting Dell EMC Data Domain services infrastructure and components.
-California Department of Justice Background Investigation required.
-Excellent Communication Skills – written and oral. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel.
-Excellent Presentation skills and ability to present to senior management.
-Excellent planning/time management skills.
-Excellent client-facing skills.
