SAIC is seeking an Aerospace Electronics Technician to support the US Navy on base in Crane, IN.

 
JOB DESCRIPTION:
 

As an Aerospace Electronics Technician you will be responsible for utilizing large pieces of equipment to test new and used batteries which could be used in missiles or other munitions.

 
JOB DUTIES:
  • Provides test and evaluation, troubleshooting, lot acceptance, qualification, engineering analysis, documentation, procedure/process creation, shipment/receipt and vendor coordination of aircraft system NiZn and NiCad cells/batteries
  • Provides test and evaluation of various battery chemistries, including Li-ion, Lithium Iron Disulfide, Lithium Calcium and Lead Acid  
  • Supports battery testing that will consist of testing temperature/humidity cycling, pressure/altitude, acceleration, vibration, and mechanical shock 

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Must have electrical knowledge
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance

Desired Qualifications

 
  • Associates in Electronics Engineering Technology or 5 years related experience
  • 5 years practical experience in a power source laboratory
  • Ability to read electrical drawings
  • Experience with batteries
