JOB DESCRIPTION:
Make a difference for National Security by joining a team of dedicated professionals in El Segundo, CA who assist the US Air Force in developing and deploying the next generation of satellites and ground systems for missile warning (MW) and environmental monitoring (EM) mission areas. These systems alert senior military officials when missile launches occur around the globe, as well as enable global naval vessel and troop movements by providing mission-critical weather data to ensure safe passage.
Our Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) team has an immediate need for a Deputy Program Manager. The successful candidate will assist the Program Manager in managing a large team of employees and subcontractors in the execution of customer mission needs. He or she will be responsible for the day to day operations of the SE&I contract, including managing the people, program security, contracts and subcontracts, budget, facilities, staffing and business processes needed to provide customer deliverables and support key customer engagements.
Major duties of the position include:
Implementing, managing, and reviewing all program controls required to meet and exceed performance work statement (PWS) requirements for technical, schedule, cost, and quality performance
Adapting proven and effective management practices to identify impediments and/or mitigate risks to effective program execution.
Conducting technical deep dives in collaboration with the Lead Systems Engineer and the SE&I staff to ensure solutions are integrated and effectively meet customer needs prior to delivery
Coordinating with contracts, finance, human resources, security management, and procurement management functions to ensure support systems are meeting program needs
Performing hiring, supervision, and performance assessments as delegated by the Program Manager.
Supporting process improvement and innovation
Provide technical leadership and direction to team members in order to meet customer and program requirements.
Ensure effective communication and collaboration among team members and customer representatives in the execution of programs.
Aid in the business development efforts to identify opportunities for growth within the customer base.
Identify opportunities to leverage corporate staff, processes or tools that may provide additional customer value
Identify and ensure the proper collection of team metrics to measure team execution effectiveness
