Description
SAIC is seeking a motivated engineering professional to join our team of diverse Global Positioning System (GPS) Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) experts. The GPS SE&I Team provides engineering, technical analysis and subject matter expertise (SME) support to the GP Directorate. As a member of our team, you’ll work in a fast-paced environment with Air Force personnel and system developers to ensure GPS remains the gold standard for position, navigation and timing. Should have working knowledge of the systems engineering process and possess the ability to work in a deadline driven environment. Uses Microsoft Office skills (specifically PowerPoint, Excel, and Word), and is willing to learn multiple facets of the GPS program as needed. The Engineer is capable of working independently or supporting / leading teams to solve GPS mission and development related problems, and capable of receiving or providing daily supervision and direction, as dictated by the tasking / situation, in a dynamic environment.
Duties:
Applies system engineering knowledge and processes to analyze the GPS Control Segment’s technical baseline requirements for Architecture Evolution Plan (AEP), Launch & Checkout Capability (LCC), GPS III Contingency Operations services (COps), M-code Early Use (MCEU), and Next Generation Operational Control System (OCX) for sustainment, transition, and cybersecurity impacts
Develops an understanding of the current GPS ground control segment, the next generation ground control segment, and GPS satellites and applies knowledge to create course of action and recommendations to address operations, transition, sustainment, and cybersecurity concerns effectively to the government and contractor engineers/analysts
Implements the Space and Missile Systems Center format for all briefings and papers in order to provide a continuous structured process for staffing, coordination, review, and approval of GPS SE&I briefings and related products ; provides briefings and technical engagements, for and to the government customers, stakeholders, and developers
Provides research for writing, editing, and proofreading of technical data for GPS Engineering managers/contractors in order to improve technical documents and briefings
Plans and executes Risk Management Framework (RMF) cybersecurity compliance assessments on GPS enterprise networks and reviews and analyzes cybersecurity design documents, policies, procedures and artifacts to scope test activities and plans and executes vulnerability and penetration testing on GPS enterprise networks
Assists in completion of risk assessments and architectural analysis of cybersecurity features of new systems and modifications and recommend enhancements based on current and anticipated threats
