Description

SAIC is seeking a Network Engineer to perform circuit related SETA support for  an Intelligence Community Customer.  The successful candidate will perform an array of systems engineering and project management functions on behalf of this Government customer.  The position is located in Chantilly, VA.

  

 Responsibilities include:

   

- Manage Circuit Procurement Activities

 

- Monitor and document new RFPs to then coordinate and manage interaction and interface with vendors for bids

 

- Update tariff information for activation/deactivation per RFPs

 

- Draft RFI language in support of soliciting vendor input/data

 

- Maintain the circuit database/info

 

- Perform technical analysis and provide evaluation of proposals, engineering changes, vendor documentation, etc

 

- Coordinate with partners regarding bandwidth, capacity, design, network requirements

 

- Ensure logical and systematic management of requirements

 

- Coordinate and manage site implementation activities with sites and providers

 

- Coordinate testing of terrestrial and satcom circuits

 

- Perform requirements analysis, schedule review, and cost estimations

 

- Assist in the development of Service Level Agreements and related data/documentation

 

- Serve as liaison for circuit matters

 

- Provide annual circuit revalidations

 

- Re-validate requirements on periodic basis to determine service needs, adjustments, etc.

Qualifications

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience. Significant experience may override education

 

-Must possess recent and relevant experience with advanced telecommunications networks

-Must demonstrate understanding of communication network(s) physical and data layers

-Must have recent and relevant intelligence community experience

-Must possess current TS/SCI with Poly

Desired Qualifications

 

- Strong verbal and written communications skills (may be required to provide a sample of documentation)
- Familiarity with the Systems Engineering lifecycle, including scheduling, risk management, and risk mitigation as applied to the network domain
- Knowledgeable of MS Office software products including Visio
- Demonstrated ability to develop plans and schedules, and work with a small team in a dynamic environment
