Overview

Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) currently has an opening for a System Architect supporting the PDSS team in Millington, TN. This is a direct backfill for a fulltime position to support the Navy Personnel Command for program support of the EMPRS and BUPERS On-line systems. The candidate must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment. Candidate will interface with end-users, system engineers and database administrators on a regular basis so interpersonal skills are required. Candidate will have analysis skills to solve problems, ability to anticipate and meet customer needs, and to have extensive planning skills for projects.


Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and integrate complex system changes
  • Research and recommend software tools and subsystems to support NPC domain analyses
  • Provide guidance and architectural input to AGILE development and SDLC teams
  • Provide project plans and track execution as required
  • Staying abreast of the latest industry technologies and trends   
  • Work with software and hardware vendors to develop customer solutions
  • Work with production teams and provide guidance for the installation of new technologies
  • Provide customer with parts lists of required hardware and software, down to the individual component level
  • Develop and maintain system diagrams with supporting documentation as required
  • Work with the IA team to harden system architectures and the applications they support
  • Support the customer requests for special pilot and research projects as required
  • Support the requirement for COOP/ Disaster Recovery capability

Qualifications

Skills & Experience

  • 10 years' Windows systems administration to include Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, IIS, and GPO
  • 10 years' experience in IPv4, routers, firewalls, LAN switches, VPN's, and WAN/LAN/MAN connections required
  • 10 years' experience designing and tracking complex system changes
  • Working knowledge of Citrix, IPv6, and SAN technologies to include S2D desired
  • Experience with virtualization technologies to include VMware and Hyper-V
  • Experience with meeting COOP and storage requirements
  • 5 years' experience as system architect on projects with at least 10 programmers required
  • Understanding of TOGAF and DoDAF Architecture frameworks
  • Understanding of DoD STIGs and NMCI eDMZ architecture
 
  • Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
 
  • Security+
  • CISA (Certified Information System Auditor)
  • CISSP (Certified Information System Security Professional)
 
 
Clearance Requirement:

This position requires a self-motivated, professional individual with demonstrated progressive experience designing and implementing systems architectures to include:

Typical Education & Experience:

A Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of experience, or an Associate’s degree with 12+ years of experience.

Prior to the hire date, the candidate must possess at least one of the following Information Security certifications:

Within six (6) months of hire date, the candidate must either obtain a commercial computing environment certification or a computing environment training certificate.

This position requires a background check and that the candidate currently be and remain eligible for a SECRET clearance. Inability to obtain and maintain a successful background check will result in candidate being ineligible for this position. U.S. Citizenship is required in order to obtain the required clearance.
