Due to our continued growth, SAIC is seeking Amazon Web Service (AWS) Commercial Cloud Services
(C2S) Systems Engineers to join our team in support of an Intelligence
Community (IC) Customer. The position will be located in Chantilly, VA.
The primary responsibilities for this position include:
- Provide expert advice with respect to
C2S cloud architecture, environments, setup and configuration,
limitations, constraints, tools, and resources
- Provide support and detailed direction
with respect to C2S cloud implementation, monitoring, initialization,
maintenance, and reporting
- Support the development, delivery,
implementation, and maintenance of C2S-based projects
- Support the System Administrative team
on implementations to the cloud. This includes inputs on hardware,
configuration, security settings and tools, storage needs, back-up and
recovery strategies, disaster recovery strategies, etc.
- Develop C2S migration CONOPS,
strategies, and plans
- Prepare and deliver assessment reports
on the migration implementation, including information on the system
performance, deficiencies, and improvement recommendations
- Participate in any and all system-level
reviews, including peer reviews and Review Boards
- Create Amazon Virtual Private Cloud
(VPC) resources (e.g. subnets, network access control lists, and security
groups)
- Utilize the Amazon Elastic Compute
Cloud (EC2) features for provisioning, monitoring, scaling and distribution
of compute infrastructure
- Create and utilize Amazon EC2VPC
subnets
- Leverage AWS capabilities
(scalability, elasticity, and high availability) to assist Application
Service Providers and Intelligence Community (IC) Infrastructure Service
Provider (NISP) cost reductions.
- Use Amazon CloudWatch to establish
metrics and monitor the health/utilization of AWS resource.
- Perform AWS and on-premise resources
backups using AWS services.
- Utilize AWS Cloud Formation to
automate infrastructure provisioning and deployment to reduce time to
production.
- Leverage resource tagging to allocate
costs and optimize resource planning for budgeting, reporting and
governance; Leverage design components and capabilities for scalability,
elasticity, and high availability.
- Write code for Amazon Web Services
API’s and SDK’s
- Utilize AWS Cloud Formation to
automate infrastructure provisioning and deployment to reduce time to
production
- Support customer incident, problem,
and change management through the External Cloud Office’s service desk
function

Qualifications
- Must have an active TS/SCI with Polygraph
- Bachelor's Degree with industry
experience--Significant customer experience will be considered in lieu of
degree
- Minimum 9 years professional experience
- 5 years of experience in system
architecture/engineering
- 5 years of experience in cloud design and
implementation
- Hands-on experience with AWS and strong
understanding of AWS capabilities and limitations
- Knowledge of cloud development cycle, to include
planning, project management, requirements development, delivery, and testing
- Experience performing on-boarding activities for
the appropriate external (AWS, C2S, GovCloud, etc.) cloud environment available
to the IC and supporting migration efforts of applications and services into
AWS
- Experience with Certification and Accreditation
(C&A), integration, operational training, deployment, transition, and
maintenance of systems and services delivered to the Enterprise
- Experience working with AWS, big data platforms,
Linux, and relational as well as NoSQL databases
- Experience coordinating with network team to
implement and finalize required network connections for Customer VPCs
- Experience creating presentations that support
Commercial Cloud Services (C2S) overviews, onboarding, status updates and any
other necessary support documentation; Create and sustain Helper VPCs which
include URL proxies, Common Service Access Points, and Bastion Hosts
- Thorough understanding of infrastructure
(firewalls, load balancers, hypervisor, storage, monitoring, security etc) and
have experience with orchestration to develop a cloud solution Use Amazon
CloudWatch to establish metrics and monitor the health/utilization of AWS
resource
- Thorough understanding of Cloud Computing: virtualization
technologies, Infrastructure as a Service, Platform as a Service and Software
as a Service Cloud delivery models and the current competitive landscape
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced degree in a related technical field
- AWS Certified Solution Architect – Associate
Certification
- Knowledge of FedRAMP, NIST and FISMA compliance,
Federal procurement, security and Authorization and Accreditation (A&A)
processes, VMWare, IT Service Management, and Content Delivery Networks
- Experience with web service migration
