SAIC is looking for a Material Coordinator in Crane, IN to support the US Navy.


JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Material Coordinator coordinates and expedites flow of material, parts, and assemblies within or between departments in accordance with production and shipping schedules or department supervisors' priorities.


JOB DUTIES:

  • Reviews production schedules and confers with department supervisors to determine material required or overdue and locates material/requisitions material  
  • Establishes delivery sequences to departments according to job order priorities and anticipated availability of material;
  • Arranges for in-plant transfer of materials to meet production schedules, and with department supervisors for repair and assembly of material and its transportation to various departments
  • Provide logistics and supply support for the Topographic Production Capability (TPC) Family of Systems (FoS)
  • Creates and modifies DD1149 shipping documents using Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) to ship software and materials to Marine Corp units
  • Assists in creation and modification of technical documentation including Modification Instructions (MI), Software Version Descriptions (SVD), Baseline Comparison Matrix (BCM) and other documentation as required by the Lead Systems Engineer
  • Continually tracks inventory on site at NSWC Crane and other locations associated with TPC FoS using ERP and Microsoft Office products

Qualifications

Required Education and Clearance: 

  • High School diploma required   
  • Must have the ability to identify and correct errors and omissions in technical documentation
  • Must have the ability to travel for short periods to CONUS customer sites
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret security clearance

Desired Qualifications

 

  • Active duty experience in Marine Corps, Army, Navy, or Air Force logistics
  • Previous work history involving Marine Corps logistics
  • Working knowledge systems engineering processes and workflows
  • Working knowledge of supply systems, government programs, policies, and nomenclature
  • Technical writing experience
