Join SAIC’s team in support of the missions of U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM), its component commands, CJTF-HOA, SOCAFRICA, and other strategic and operational partners. AFRICOM, in concert with interagency and international partners, builds defense capabilities, responds to crises, and deters and defeats transnational threats in order to advance U.S. national interests and promote regional security, stability, and prosperity. The majority of, but not all, the support required under this effort will take place on the African continent.
The SAIC team will provide Training Support.
The Training support team will conduct assessments and gap analyses of allies’ and partner nations’ capabilities and capacity. Additionally, the team shall work in conjunction with the Government to assess, refine, and certify doctrine and develop training materials such as curriculums, training plans, training standards, Programs of Instruction (POI), etc. designed to build allies’ and partner nation capabilities and to enhance individual, collective, and culminating training events and exercises as well as special skills proficiency.
The team shall also conduct training utilizing Mobile Training Teams (MTT) and a Train-Coach-Mentor approach on objectives that could include, but are not limited to, the following:
Conducting route, area, and/or zone reconnaissance including C-IED operations.
Performing Combat Service Support (CSS) and sustainment.
For each training event, the team shall develop a tailored SOP, including a detailed training plan/schedule. Additionally, the team shall conduct training in the local language (e.g., French and Arabic) and shall be responsible for providing interpreters if needed.
Upon completion of each training event, the team shall conduct hotwash sessions and provide comprehensive After Action Reviews (AARs) which assess how well the training objectives were met. At a minimum, the AARs shall capture the relevance and applicability of the various training events including any applicable data, trends, metrics, etc. The team shall utilize the AARs to identify any lessons learned and corrective actions needed and to continuously refine the training materials based upon the knowledge gained.
The Lead Trainer:
Responsible for the execution of training and the supervision of 3 - 7 Trainers to build partner capacity.
Works via mobile training team and responsible for training plan execution
Develops, directs, plans and evaluates training programs or activities to meet external customer or internal employee learning objectives.
Assignments may include needs analysis, custom course development, development of criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of course objectives, and evaluation and learning assessments. Where instructing within a certified educational institution, responsible for determining the organization, communication and delivery of the course content and materials, and for developing learning activities and demonstrations.
Collaborates with customer or internal functional organization to develop, enhance, and/or evaluate new or existing learning objectives and course content.
May create course content, training materials, visual aids and documentation to support a variety of instructional formats such as lecture, lab exercises, field training, computer-based training (CBT), and/or web-based training (WBT).
May develop exam materials and may be responsible for testing and qualitative evaluation of participant's attainment of learning objectives.
Monitors and evaluates training programs, assesses results, and implements enhancements as needed.
Trainers may also administer training programs to meet student needs, which may require post-training follow up to determine applicability of course material or training approaches.
A Bachelor’s Degree and twenty (20) years of experience
Background in military training with three years of specialized training in the topic being instructed
Completion of a military instructor certification program or equivalent
Five years of specialized experience planning, supervising and assessing military instruction or training
Experience with deployments to or support of countries in Africa
Training and experience in curriculum development
Training and experience in providing instructor led training
