Job Description


JOB DESCRIPTION: SAIC is currently seeking a Cyber Security Analyst in Huntsville, AL to support the mission areas of the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (CCDC) – Aviation and Missile Center (AvMC). The scope of work for the position includes cyber security support for Advanced Prototyping Engineering and Experimentation (APEX) Lab, Integrated Collaborative Environment (ICE), Soldier Protection Lab (SPL), and U.S. Army Aviation activities. The candidate will work in a collaborative team environment consisting of defense industry contractors and U.S. Government personnel.



  • Serving as the Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) and Cyber Security Team Lead for ICE
  • Maintaining the ICE RMF accreditation package and participating in security control (SCA-V) and risk assessments during the certification and accreditation processes for ICE
  • Designing and developing cyber security products, interface specifications, and approaches to secure ICE
  • Preparing RMF accreditation packages for systems and systems of systems in accordance with DoD regulations



BS, MS, or PhD degree with five (5) years or more demonstrated experience in cyber security



Candidate must have an active SECRET or higher security clearance



Must meet baseline information assurance (IA) certification requirements for an IAM Level II or higher position per DoD 8570.01-M (CAP, CASP+, CISM, CISSP, GSLC, or CCISO)


  • Expertise in the creation of Certification & Accreditation (C&A) or Assessment and Authorization (A&A) evidence to successfully obtain RMF accreditation for an enclaved environment consisting of virtualized and physical systems running Microsoft Windows, Linux, and VMWare operating systems

  • Experience and certification with the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) to enter and maintain records and provide updates to artifact repositories and Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M)

  • Experience with ACAS, NESSUS Pro, and SCAP Compliance Checker

  • Ability to determine applicable NIST 800-53 cyber security controls and develop System Security Plans (SSP) and attendant documentation to support RMF accreditation packages

  • Knowledge of DoD Guidance, DISA STIG Compliance, DITSCAP, DIACAP, NIACAP, NIST RMF, eMASS, and DoD Authorization and Assessment processes

  • Experience with applying security risk assessment methodology to system development and existing IT infrastructure, including threat model development, vulnerability assessments, and security risk analysis

  • Ability to excel as a member of a collaborative team through open communication, transparency, and flexibility in Government customer’s facilities

Desired Qualifications



  • Baseline information assurance (IA) certification requirements for an IAT Level II or higher position per DoD 8570.01-M (Security+, Computing Environment)
  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP), VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP)
  • Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP)/Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE)


  • Experience with design, implementation, and operations of server and/or datacenter virtualization technology
  • Experience with VMware vSphere Suite of products
  • Familiar with VDI design, implementation, and administration, linked-clones, updating images, composer operations, templates, folder redirection or roaming profiles, etc.
  • Understanding of networking concepts such as vLAN tagging, subnetting, routing, link aggregates, LACP, trunking, etc.
  • Experience working with PowerShell scripts other advanced scripting experience
  • Hands-on experience implementing DoD PKI (ActiveClient, certificate authorities, etc.)
