JOB DESCRIPTION
  • Researches, designs, develops, modifies, evaluates and tests a variety of electronic equipment and systems for initial system design, upgrades to fielded systems, and maintenance and operational support for Electronic Warfare (EW) systems to include O-level, I-level and D-level maintenance for the AN/ALQ-218, AN/ALQ-240(V)1, CP-2640/ALQ (EAU), RT-1919/ALQ-227(V) (CCS), CN-1717/A (INCANS), JTTR, MX-20HD, Next Generation Jammer (NGJ) and other assigned EW systems and related Support Equipment, communications equipment and systems; circuitry components; analog and digital computers; and control and test equipment.

  • PROBLEM COMPLEXITY: Develops technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.

  • FREEDOM TO ACT: Work is performed without appreciable direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment. Completed work is reviewed from a relatively long-term perspective for desired results. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

  • IMPACT: Guides the successful completion of major programs. Erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in failure to achieve major organizational objectives.

  • LIASON: Represents organization as prime technical contact on contracts and projects. Interacts with senior external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations.

 
JOB DUTIES:
  • Conducts experimental tests on equipment and evaluates results.

  • Develops specifications for selecting components and equipment to use.

  • May also review vendors' abilities to support development.

  • Applies extensive technical expertise and has full knowledge of other related disciplines.

  • Receives assignments in the form of objectives and establishes goals to meet objectives.

  • Provides guidance to subordinates to achieve goals in accordance with established policies.

  • Work is reviewed and measured based on meeting objectives and schedules. Establishes and recommends changes to policies which affect subordinate organization(s).

  • Provide engineering support in the selection, evaluation, and qualification of replacement technologies and materials of items.

  • Provide input into market analysis, design, materials selections, performance characteristics, conformance testing, and quality requirements.

Qualifications

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND CLEARANCE:

  • Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience.

  • Must have an engineering and material background. Some duties may include research, design, development and test of a variety of electronic equipment and systems.

  • Candidate must be a US citizen.

  • Candidate must be able to obtain a full DoD Secret clearance.
