Researches, designs, develops, modifies, evaluates and tests a variety of electronic equipment and systems for initial system design, upgrades to fielded systems, and maintenance and operational support for Electronic Warfare (EW) systems to include O-level, I-level and D-level maintenance for the AN/ALQ-218, AN/ALQ-240(V)1, CP-2640/ALQ (EAU), RT-1919/ALQ-227(V) (CCS), CN-1717/A (INCANS), JTTR, MX-20HD, Next Generation Jammer (NGJ) and other assigned EW systems and related Support Equipment, communications equipment and systems; circuitry components; analog and digital computers; and control and test equipment.
PROBLEM COMPLEXITY: Develops technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.
FREEDOM TO ACT: Work is performed without appreciable direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment. Completed work is reviewed from a relatively long-term perspective for desired results. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
IMPACT: Guides the successful completion of major programs. Erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in failure to achieve major organizational objectives.
LIASON: Represents organization as prime technical contact on contracts and projects. Interacts with senior external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations.
Conducts experimental tests on equipment and evaluates results.
Develops specifications for selecting components and equipment to use.
May also review vendors' abilities to support development.
Applies extensive technical expertise and has full knowledge of other related disciplines.
Receives assignments in the form of objectives and establishes goals to meet objectives.
Provides guidance to subordinates to achieve goals in accordance with established policies.
Work is reviewed and measured based on meeting objectives and schedules. Establishes and recommends changes to policies which affect subordinate organization(s).
Provide engineering support in the selection, evaluation, and qualification of replacement technologies and materials of items.
Provide input into market analysis, design, materials selections, performance characteristics, conformance testing, and quality requirements.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND CLEARANCE:
Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience.
Must have an engineering and material background. Some duties may include research, design, development and test of a variety of electronic equipment and systems.
Candidate must be a US citizen.
Candidate must be able to obtain a full DoD Secret clearance.
Able to communicate cross-functionally with all level.
