Job Description


SAIC is hiring a Tier II / Mac System Administrator with a STEM related Bachelors' degree to support a Mac and Linux environments.  This position requires that the candidate have worked in a Mac environment, dealing with highly complex issues. The candidate must be able to work in a high energy, multi-tiered, highly automated, client facing environment with excellent customer service skills. Position requires:   

  • System engineering and administration capabilities in Mac and Linux environments;
  • Ability to traverse different Operating Systems to accomplish the same tasks e.g. network configuration, user accounts, and system builds;
  • Experience working with automation tools such as JAMF / Casper;
  • Experience patching macOSx systems on a monthly basis;
  • Experience hardening macOSx versions;
  • Ability to schedule tools such as Backups, Network, and Vulnerability scanning;
  • Demonstrated ability to produce documentation in a variety of formats such as media wiki, google sites, drupal, wordpress;
  • Work with multiple helpdesk and service issue systems and synchronization of issues across platforms;
  • Ability to work independently under aggressive timelines with varying degrees of complexity and exercise significant independent judgment within broadly defined policies and practices;
  • Strong client-facing skills with excellent oratory and organizational skills and the ability to use appropriate discretion while supporting VIP users;
  • Must be able to diligently troubleshoot and properly resolve complex Mac OSx issues;


Ideal Candidate required qualifications include:  

  • BS in STEM related area and 5+ years of experience;
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting deep MAC and Linux OS issues;
  • Experience working with vulnerability scans on systems of varying complexity and patch all systems on a rigorous, monthly basis;
  • Experience supporting the investigation of incidents, installation, modification or replacement of hardware or software components and any configuration change(s) that affects security, as necessary;
  • Demonstrated experience working independently, as well as balancing and prioritizing work;
  • US Citizenship required with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance;
