SAIC is seeking a Tier 2 Production Support Engineer located in Vienna, VA with extensive firsthand experience with supporting VM client and limited mainframe applications, job scheduling, report generation, and providing real-time analysis and remediation of fault conditions. 


The position will provide on call support, problem resolution, and analysis for the Client server applications generating Daily Notices, Statements, Legacy Statements, 1099R, report archiving, Qlikview and Connect:Direct transmission processes. 


Daily activities include reviewing nightly Notices, Statements, Legacy Statements, 1099R, supporting report archiving and Connect:Direct transmission processes.

Responsibilities
  1. Generate reports and run and maintain scheduled batch processing jobs
  2. Installation of release deployment tasks.
  3. Modification of Windows task scheduler elements.
  4. Verification of release elements.
  5. Supports the Development and Test team’s testing efforts
  6. Works with the Service desk on job failures
  7. Setup Windows task scheduler to execute jobs as requested;
  8. Monitor schedules as part of daily processing
  9. Conducts initial analysis on production job abends and participates in a conference calls for troubleshooting and analysis.
  10. Provides on call Tier 2 support
  11. Maintains the Production Support SharePoint site

The candidate will need to provide occasional 24/7 support on an on-call basis. 


Qualifications

Required Skills (extensive knowledge)


Hand-on experience with Windows, Windows Task Scheduler,    


Languages: MS-DOS, Powershell,

 

Desired Skills


Tools:  Connect:Direct, Powershell, MS-DOS, BAT files PCL2PDF, Qlikview, Take Command, WinZip. ProcessExplorer, NotePad++. 


Mainframe experience a plus. 


Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a Public Trust prior to starting work


Qualifications

The well qualified candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

  1. Analytical and problem solving skills

  2. Strong attention to detail

  3. Use Microsoft task scheduler to execute schedules/jobs as requested; monitor schedules as part of daily processing

  4. Provide a resolution or recommendation to the Tier III development staff if a code change is required

  5. Participate in the Disaster Recovery exercises

  6. Provide audit information per request

  7. Work independently with minimal direct supervision

  8. Must be able to work on multiple tasks simultaneously

  9. Strong organizational and presentation skills with both technical and non-technical audiences

  10. SOP (standard operating procedures) and Checklist review and process, be able to recognize out of ordinary conditions, analyze, and resolve

  11. Knowledge and experience with MS-DOS, Powershell

  12. Experience in project life cycle phases a plus
