SAIC is seeking DoD Systems Engineer in Panama City, FL. The SE will be overseeing and reviewing a ships computer system utilized for multiple tactical software packages.
Responsible for full lifecycle requirements management.
Work to create Sub-System Level Requirements and work with all Engineering disciplines (Hardware, Software, Network, Safety, IA, etc.) to guide the next level down requirements.
Perform requirement capture and management, system design, and system validation activities. This includes participation in system level technical guidance during all phases of development (requirements definition, design, test, validation, production, and commission) to ensure that systems and products meet customer requirements.
Perform system analysis, system architecture review and risk analysis
Develop and manage sub-system requirements, and review derived design requirements
Maintain traceability between system, sub-system, and design requirements
Perform requirements change management
Verify system test coverage and system validation results
Verify system level documentation
Evaluate and identify new technologies for implementation
Perform issue analysis from internal validation testing and customer reports
Working knowledge of software configuration and change management, continuous integration and potentially automated testing processes
Ability to work in a very fast pace dynamic environment to meet the needs of the organization
Required Education and Experience
Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience
Active DoD Secret clearance.
Understanding of DoD Systems Engineering processes and requirements.
Experience with Requirements analysis and decomposition.
Experience with and understanding of system modeling and analysis
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions
Knowledge and experience with overseeing Ships computer system utilized for multiple tactical software packages. (The computing environment is on Navy Vessel of Opportunities (VOOs).)
Engineering background, in either Hardware Design or Testing.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Ability to work as a team player who understands the importance of teamwork, collaboration, and open communication, including a willingness to occasionally work in a pair-programming environment
Effective communication skills; ability to articulate clearly and concisely
Experience with Java programming and embedded software development is a plus
