SAIC has a contingent job opportunity for Quality Control (QC) Lead to be responsible for QC activities on the Korean Peninsula providing Mission Command Network operations and maintenance services to organizations and users serviced by the United States Army Command Information Systems Activity – Pacific (USACISA-P). This position is contingent upon contract award, and will be located in Yongsan, Korea or Camp Humphries, South Korea. 

 

Job Description:  The QC Lead develops, modifies, applies and maintains quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product. Collaborates with test laboratory and production functions to ensure performance requirements are met. Supports USACISA-P Quality Assurance assessments. Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment. Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess control and manage risks of product quality and determine the responsibility for products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications. Audits quality systems for development acceptance criteria (parameters based on product result). May undertake root cause analysis of incidents requiring corrective action. Ensures that corrective measures and deviation meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements. May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, service evaluation and reliability, and/or inventory control as they apply to service or process quality. May be certified in lean and six-sigma quality methodologies and utilize quality tools to help drive continuous improvement. This position in designated Mission Essential.

Interprets and administers policies, processes, and procedures that may affect sections and subordinate work units.


Freedom to Act

This position reports to Corporate Quality Management stateside and executes responsibilities free from the in-country team’s influence. Assignments are defined in terms of activities and objectives.  Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.

Impact

Decisions have an impact on work processes and outcomes.  Erroneous decisions or recommendations or failure to complete assignments normally result in serious delays and considerable expenditure of additional time, workforce, and funds.


Liaison

Interacts frequently with in-country team and USACISA-P representatives at various levels.  Participates and presents at internal and external meetings.  Interaction typically concerns resolutions of operational and scheduling issues. Often plays a key role in cooperative effort among all members of the contractor and USACISA-P quality activity integration.

Qualifications

Basic Education and/or Experience 

Must have bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a business or IT related discipline. In addition to educational requirement, a minimum of  five (5) or more years of complex DoD and IT related O&M type QC Management. A masters degree can substitute for 2 years’ experience, a PhD can substitute for 5 years’ experience.

 

Certification Requirement 

Must have ITIL Foundations Certification and be 8570-1M Certified

Schedule

Full-time, the QC Lead shall be available 40-hour work week with the potential for off hours on-call response.
