Description

The Change/Release Manager reports directly to the Workplace Solutions Service Delivery Manager (SDM), and is responsible for execution of and adherence to established Change and Release Management standards and procedures for implementing application and infrastructure changes in the enterprise. The Change/Release Manager requires extensive experience with managing changes in a customer environment.  Their primary focus is coordinating all changes in the environment. 


Change/Release Manager works directly with the subject matter expert (SME) of the technical service areas to ensure change requests are submitted into the ITSM tool. This role is also responsible for chairing the Change Advisory Board (CAB) to obtain approvals for changes from the Change Authority. 


As a part of a cross-functional team, the Change/Release Manager will also be responsible for backing up other members of the team to support Incident, Problem, Asset and Configuration management responsibilities.  


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage change activities in accordance with established Change and Release Management processes

  • Ensure appropriate controls in the change process

  • Manage risk and resolves issues that affect Change Management

  • Manage client and management expectations with respect to Change Management activities

  • Work closely with the Change Authority and Release team for scheduling and implementing changes

  • Work to guarantee smooth, predictable and timely delivery of enterprise changes using a combination of processes and tools

  • Recommend process improvements for Change and Release Management

  • Conduct training associated with the approved Change Management process

  • Maintains alignment with Incident/Problem Management functions

  • Produce accurate reporting of change requests

  • Develop and maintain process and procedures for consumption of the Change/Release Management capability, for all Key Work Partners

  • Candidate may also be involved in the development and implementation of the future methodology for Change Management efforts

  • Take part in other ITSM processes, or as required perform as a back up to maintain operational activities

  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal communications and complex problem solving Advanced written and verbal communications skills including the ability to develop presentations and present to senior management

Qualifications

 Required Experience, Education, & Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree required and two (2) years or more of related experience
  • Change/Release Management or relevant work experience required
  • Minimum 1 year of Operations experience in a 24x7x365 environment required
  • Hands-on Change, Release Management, or Project Management experience
  • Experience with Change / Release Management or Application Development Project Management, as well as a thorough understanding of fundamental change and release concepts and processes.
  • Knowledge of industry Change and Release Management best practices
  • Possess strong communication, interpersonal skills as well as outstanding organizational skill

  • ITIL® Foundation Level or higher Certification
