As an SAIC Application Development Lead, you will be responsible for leading, planning and implementing software development activities that satisfy the functional and non-functional requirements of the supported application or system.
Guide team development efforts towards successful project delivery.
Provide technical leadership to teammates through coaching and mentorship.
Maintain high standards of software quality within the team by establishing good practices and habits.
Identify and encourage areas for growth and improvement within the team.
Participates as technical expert in design, development, coding, testing, and debugging new software or significant enhancements to existing software.
Prepare reports, manuals and other documentation on the status, operation and maintenance of software.
Design, develop, and unit test applications in accordance with established standards.
Participate in peer-reviews of solution designs and related code.
Package and support deployment of releases
Expertise must include Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle database development, custom .NET/Java applications, and Open Source software.
Works with staff to understand technical problems with software and develops solutions to resolve them.
Resolves customer complaints and responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancements.
Participates in the development of system documentation, including system design specifications, system security plans, user manuals, etc.
Assists in training/mentoring less experienced developers.
Able to perform responsibilities utilizing agile or waterfall software development methodologies.
Bachelors and nine (9) years or more of related experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more of related experience.
Extensive experience designing and developing enterprise grade software
Experience with source control management systems and continuous integration/deployment environments
Experience with automated testing
Experience with agile development methodologies including Kanban and Scrum
Experience with multi-threading and concurrency
Experience with debugging, performance profiling and optimization
Comprehensive understanding of object-oriented and service-oriented application development techniques and theories.
Internally motivated, able to work proficiently both independently and in a team environment
Strong communication skills with both internal team members and external business stakeholders
Strong initiative to find ways to improve solutions, systems, and processes
Experience working with Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle database development, custom .NET/Java applications, and Open Source software.
Proven ability to understand a customer's needs.
Experience developing technical requirements based on business imperatives.

ITIL v3 or v4 Foundation Certification.
Familiarity with ServiceNow.
