JOB DESCRIPTION: SAIC is looking for a talented and accomplished Systems Engineer/Architect in Fort Belvoir, VA. In this role you will be supporting total systems engineering, enterprise architecture, requirements and system analysis, test/assessment support, and modeling of a variety of sensor systems in support of developing the Integrated Sensor Architecture (ISA).  


ABOUT THE TEAM/PROGRAM: This position is for our Communications-Electronics Research, Development and Engineering Center (CERDEC) Night Vision and Electronic Sensors Directorate (NVESD) support team. The U.S. Army CERDEC ISA is a cutting edge enabler that allows sensors within an area of operation to share information without requiring physical point-to-point integration.  


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Working with a team to gather stakeholder needs and translate them into software-level requirements for use in implementation and testing
  • Developing system-level architectural designs and identify/document information exchanges between system components
  • Generating DoDAF and UML artifacts to effectively communicate system architectural designs
  • Analyzing and defining mappings between interface data models
  • Collaborating with internal implementation and testing teams to ensure understanding and coverage of requirements and architectural designs
  • Performing in-depth evaluations of internal and external technical documentation and recording detailed comments
  • Effectively communicating summaries/overviews describing the architecture artifacts to cross functional team members
  • Responsibly and professionally representing customer in program reviews, planning discussions and technical interchange meetings (TIMs)
  • Effectively maintaining a professional demeanor
 

Qualifications

REQUIRE EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

  • At a minimum, a BS degree with five (5) years or more of related experience
  • Ability to excel as a member of a collaborative team through open communication, transparency, and flexibility in U.S. Government customer’s facilities
  • Ability to relate professionally with senior U.S. Government customers and colleagues
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience managing customer relationships and key business stakeholders.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT: Active Secret Security Clearance and ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI. 


Desired Qualifications

 DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • System Level Design knowledge and understanding of data models
  • Understanding of the U.S. Army Network/Data Communication infrastructure and tactical networks
  • Experience with working on integrated product teams (IPTs)
  • Experience with optimizing architectures
  • Operational knowledge of Cameo Enterprise Architect and MagicDraw

DESIRED CERTIFICATIONS: Certifications related to functional responsibilities such as Certified Enterprise Architect (CEA)
