SAIC is looking for highly-motivated, talented individuals to become a part of a diverse engineering and technology team. Our mission is to supply optimal engineering, science and advanced technology solutions to the Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) support for the USAF Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC) Range and Network Directorate (SMC/RN) services to modernize and sustain the Launch and Test Range System (LTRS), the Air Force Satellite Control Network (AFSCN) and the Space Training Acquisition Office (STAO).
The candidate for this position provides solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity where analysis of situations or data requires a review of the variety of factors through frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques.
Architects, plans, configures, deploys, maintains, and upgrades COTS/GOTS and custom toolsets to address vulnerabilities and/or implement security controls.
Applies a combination of expert engineering knowledge of enterprise IT and security solutions to design, develop and/or implement solutions to ensure they are consistent with enterprise architecture security policies and support full spectrum military cyberspace operations.
Designs, tests, and implements secure operating systems, networks, security monitoring, tuning and management of IT security systems and applications, incident response, digital forensics, loss prevention, and eDiscovery actions.
Includes security control design and solution planning at the system, mission, and enterprise level, security-in-depth/defense-in-depth, and other related IAM/ISSO/ISSE support functions.
Involved in a wide range of security issues including architectures, firewalls, electronic data traffic, and network access.
Researches and evaluates cyber capabilities and new security tools and products against operational requirements and introduces them to the enterprise in alignment with IT security strategy, and to support the offensive and defensive capability design and troubleshoot and problem solve technical and non-technical issues. .
At the Leadership level this is senior technical staff dedicated to transforming customer environments into a more secure operating environment in a holistic manner.
Specific tasks in support to RN (not all inclusive):
Provide tactical and strategic management of cybersecurity of RN programs, including, but not limited to, the development of RN cybersecurity policy, processes, and plans incorporating high-level directives, as well as the translation of the strategic cybersecurity posture into specific cybersecurity requirements. Manage future cybersecurity architecture, host strategy events, and follow-on IPSs.
Ensure RN SE&I personnel performing cybersecurity work are certified.
Manage the Acquisition Cybersecurity Strategy documents prior to acquisition milestones decisions and other events.
Manage RN Authority to Operate (ATO), Interim Authority to Test (IATT), Interim Authority to Operate (IATO), and Authority to Connect (ATC) processes.
BA/BS degree in Systems Engineering or closely related field or equivalent work experience
Minimum 3 years of specific experience in cybersecurity
Expertise in Assessment and Authorization (A&A)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong problem solving skills
Understanding of the system certification process
Experience with information assurance risk assessments
Industry Cyber Security Certifications including CEH, SANS, SEC+ CE (per AFMAN 33-285 188.8.131.52 an IAT Level II)
Active Secret Security Clearance
Experience with Western/Eastern Range, Launch and Test Program and/or Air Force programs (Specifically the LTRS and AFSCN)
One of the following Cybersecurity workforce certifications: CISA, GCIH, GCED, CISSP, or CASP CE (per AFMAN 33-285 184.108.40.206 IAT Level III)
Experience working on a Cybersecurity project engineering team.
Risk Management framework NIST 800-53, ISO 27001, IEC 62443, or NERC-CIP
Understanding of information security principles, DoD STIGs, and A&A processes for systems
Background in Information Security Test Assessment/Information Security Test & Evaluation
Information Assurance Technical Framework (IATF)
eMASS certification and accreditation tool experience
Current DOD TS or TS/SCI security clearance
