This position supports the Maneuver Battle Lab (MBL) in experimentation with the SESU concept. The candidate selected will serve as a Tactical / Operational SME during constructive experimentation and the overall Lead during live experimentation.
Must have a thorough background and understanding of Army Maneuver Brigade (IBCT, SBCT, ABCT, SFAB) tactics and doctrine. Additionally, must have a thorough understanding of the Army’s Concept for Multi-Domain Operations.
Candidate must be capable of assisting in the planning, development, and implementation of a comprehensive experimentation plan to ensure successful execution of major concept development SESU experiments assigned to the MBL. This includes development of mission sets, tactical orders for all echelons of command, Mission Command and Communications training plans, Experimental Unit Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Order of Battle development for both friendly and enemy units, and Experiment Training Plans.
Will assist Modeling and Simulation Integration team to ensure the experiment design is in accordance with appropriate doctrine, tactics, techniques, and procedures and meets the customers required learning demands Responsible for conducting After Action Reviews (AARs) and capturing observations, insights, and recommendations identified during the reviews. Information is captured and stored electronically for historical purposes.
During experimentation events will supervise experimentation analysts and serve in Experiment Control (EXCON) or Simulation Control Cells.
Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent and 9 years of experience.
Prior military background is required with thorough knowledge through experience in Maneuver organizations and structures.
Candidate must be a subject matter expert with experience in current Maneuver Doctrine and the employment of robotics and sensors.
Candidates must have the ability to develop comprehensive training plans in support of experimentation events.
Candidate must be an experienced writer who possesses advanced computer skills demonstrating a proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Excellent communications skills and interpersonal skills are required.
Candidate must be customer oriented as well as have the ability to operate within a team environment or independently if required.
Excellent reasoning skills are required.
Previous experience preparing and coordinating requirements, decision papers, fact sheets, information papers, and briefing slides is required.
A strong background in tactics, techniques, and procedures required to plan, organize and develop offensive or defensive operations, execute command and control, movement and maneuver, fire support, and other military aspects of battle in the synthetic environment is required.
Applicant must possess a SECRET clearance.
Battalion Command experience, ideally in combat.
Previous Project Management experience is recommended.
Candidate should have experience with simulation software and models including One Semi Automated Forces (OneSAF).
Recent operational maneuver experience in combat. Command and General Staff College Graduate.
