SAIC is seeking a Test Engineer to join our team supporting an IC customer.
Performs a multi-disciplined engineering activities related to Information Technology and Specialty Engineering including: concept of operations formulation, requirements definition, analysis and engineering, system architecting, system analysis and design, interface and data architectures, validation and verification, systems integration, system & op. performance analysis, Lifecycle cost analysis & estimation, decision analysis and physical configuration analysis (PCA). Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software or engineering specifications. Provides specific, detailed information for selection, implementation techniques, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. From an information technology perspective, may be concerned with data storage, infrastructure management, monitoring, operating systems, directory services, identity management, and access management.
Interacts with project office engineering groups and external development test engineers to design, document, analyze, perform, and interpret tests and evaluate systems, components, and modifications. Participates in system integration and validation to identify functional problems across systems and the larger enterprise. Traces and verifies requirements are met and validates user acceptance of systems. Creates, documents, and analyzes requirements, architectures, integration plans, test cases, test procedures. Provides constructive test-related feedback and recommendations across project office to support end product deliveries. Ensures testing plans and procedures are in compliance with required NRO and NGA standards. Identifies chronic or systemic problems in testing and supports the customer’s process improvement efforts. Captures work plans and outputs using COTS tools provided. May coordinate with vendors or suppliers to monitor or recommend modifications to testing for components or other interfaces.
Acts to uncover and resolve issues associated with the development and implementation of operational programs. Plans R&D programs and recommends technological application programs to accomplish long-range objectives. Work is checked only to the effectiveness of results obtained, typically requiring a long-term perspective. Virtually self-supervisory.
Exhibits ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness. Applies and/or develops technologies, scientific principles, theories and concepts. Viewed as subject matter expert in the field.

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.
