SAIC is seeking a Senior Transition Engineer for the Global Positioning System (GPS) Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) Team. The GPS SE&I Team provides specialized engineering, analysis, operations support, and subject matter expertise to the SMC/GP Directorate and other GPS customers.  

 

The Team also provides systems engineering and analysis services to include system development, enterprise and system architecture, acquisition, testing, operations, and sustainment support for existing and new capabilities. Team members provide an enterprise perspective for identification and review of risks and risk mitigation plans and work to institutionalize systems engineering best practices across the SMC/GP Directorate organization.  The Ops Transition Analyst plans, integrates, and makes technical recommendations in the execution of Operations & Maintenance Suitability (O&MS) and Operations & Maintenance Readiness (O&MR) to create a seamless transition from the Operational Control System (OCS) to Contingency Operations (COps) to M-Code Early User (MCEU) & the next-generation Operational Control Segment (OCX).

 

  • Performs systems engineering analyses, technical reviews, and assessments; coordinate analyses efforts, methods, and techniques; develop products and briefings; and perform technical engagement with, and briefings for and to, government customers, stakeholders, and developer.

  • Provides technical recommendations for training, operations procedures, technical orders, Software User Manuals, and overall Operations Suitability and Readiness for Transition & Fielding decisions.  Crafts technical inputs to the government's O&M Suitability & Readiness Plans

  • Makes technical recommendations on AFMAN 63-119 CSRDOT efforts for PEO certification, Operational Acceptance, and certification of System Readiness for Dedicated Operational Test

  • Drafts risks and opportunities for transition and briefs these and other transition related topics to senior leadership.

  • Assists transition to operations with GPS Modernization Subject Matter Expert (SME) development and certification, and Transition Crew development and certification.

 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors and 9+ years of experience; OR, High School equivalent and 13+ years of experience.
  • Minimum of an Interim Secret clearance is required.
  • Knowledge of development lifecycle, project integration, and stakeholder processes  
  • Effective interpersonal skills, ability to conduct system engineering and integration, development of analysis reports, and strong briefing and writing skills are essential 
  • Ability to think critically, synthesize information from multiple sources into comprehensive plans, assimilate diverse user and mission needs, identify technical issues, and understand impacts within and external to the GPS Enterprise 

 

Desired Qualifications

 
  • USAF Operations & Maintenance experience
  • 2 SOPS or 19 SOPS Experience

  • Experience with Test, Transition, and GPS External Interfaces

  • Experience with 14 AF, HANU, JSpOC, NGA, SNL, or USNO
