SAIC is seeking an experienced and energetic Antenna and Radio Frequency (RF) Systems Engineer to join the National Security Customer Group (NSCG) in our Chantilly, VA office.  NSCG provides specialized program management, engineering, analysis, and operations support to a variety of Intelligence Community (IC)  and Department of Defense (DoD) customers.  We support the generation after next of national security-related systems based in space, in the air, and on the ground.

 

NSCG has an opening for an engineer to provide Systems Engineering and Technical Advisory (SETA) services to an IC Research and Development (R&D) customer.  The customer is developing the next generation of spacecraft architectures, hardware and software solutions for the IC.  This position provides critical and direct support to plan, invest, and mature SIGINT technologies to address hard intelligence problems, and for future national security satellite architectures and systems.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Support RF SIGINT systems R&D in areas such as antenna/RF analysis and modeling, SIGINT mission analysis, and receiver electronics

- Provide support to acquisition, source selection, and programmatic processes

- Assist with developing and maintaining the SIGINT R&D Technology Roadmap

- Perform technical reviews and assessments of contractor and government lab development activities

- Develop documents and briefings to communicate program status to include briefing the customer as required

Qualifications

- Bachelor degree in engineering or physics with a relevant subspecialty (e.g., RF communications, antennas, or signal processing) and 15 years of relevant experience

- Satellite engineering knowledge to include architecture and concept development, hardware and/or software design and development, integration and test, and on-orbit activation

- Aptitude for on-site SETA work and daily customer engagement

- Excellent interpersonal, briefing, and writing skills

- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

- Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph

Desired Qualifications

 

- Advanced degree in engineering or physics with a relevant subspecialty (e.g., RF communications, antennas, or signal processing) and 20 years of relevant experience

- Analysis and modeling of advanced RF systems or payload design concepts
