Join SAIC’s Information Technology (IT) Support Services Team in the Network Operations and Security Center (NOSC) of the US Air Forces Central Command (USAFCENT) Communications Directorate (A6). This opportunity places you at the tip of the spear for Engineering, Operations and Maintenance, Cyber Security, and Defensive Cyber Operations supporting the warfighter in the Southwest Asia area.

 

USAFCENT is the air component of United States Central Command (USCENTCOM), a regional unified command. USAFCENT, in concert with its coalition, joint and interagency partners, delivers decisive air and space power on behalf of USCENTCOM for the security and stability of the Southwest Asia (SWA) region. The USAFCENT NOSC delivers cyberspace command and control (C2) superiority to the warfighter by engineering, implementing, securing, managing, operating and maintaining USAFCENT’s Non-Classified Internet Protocol Router Network (NIPRNet), Secret Internet Protocol Router (SIPRNet), USCENTCOM Partner Networks (CPN-X), and associated C2 networks, systems and services.

 

The USAFCENT NOSC executes the full-spectrum of IT services management and operations for USAFCENT networks 24 hour-a-day, 7 day-a-week (24/7); and is tasked by USCENTCOM to provide information assurance (IA) boundary intrusion detection and intrusion prevention for USCENTCOM components. Comprised of NOSC operations, operations support, cybersecurity, network engineering, and command support functions, the USAFCENT NOSC plans, engineers, installs, integrates, operates and maintains, protects and manages enterprise-wide network and systems architecture, infrastructure and services; and provides enterprise-level oversight to its subordinate and supported communications support activities.

 

Candidates will be working at Shaw AFB, SC and/or Lackland AFB, TX. Frequent temporary duty (TDY) and/or deployment travel to OCONUS locations in the USCENTCOM AOR is required to support sustainment, site surveys, installations, upgrades, integration, testing, troubleshooting and other mission-related requirements.

 

The candidate for this position participates in the development of solutions to a variety of problems moderate in scope and complexity. Often refers to policies, procedures and practices for guidance through frequent use and application of industry practices, techniques, and standards.

 

Knowledge Operations Management:

  • Edits, proofreads and provides writing support, the conceptualization, layout and preparation of high quality graphics, text, and templates, and the design, preparation, and creation of new media projects on non-technical and/or technical documents or sections of documents prepared by writers such as manuals, procedures and specifications. Responsibilities include checking drafts for format, clarity and overall cohesiveness. 

  • Ensuring documents meet editorial and government specifications and adhering to standards for quality, graphics, coverage, format and style.  Responsibilities include: producing and/or revising technical articles, proposals, publications, books, manuals, reports, and marketing materials and determining project requirements and presenting drafts of finished product to the user ensuring high quality of output. 

  • Reviews rough drafts and makes suggestions. In addition, individuals in this family design and develop multimedia applications, systems and products involving computer graphics and interactive computing using a variety of new media software applications, techniques and tools.  

Specific duties for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Augment the USAFCENT Command Record Manager (CRM), Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Manager, Publication Manager, and the Privacy Manager, with the maintenance and management of SharePoint, records management, publications and forms, privacy, and FOIA requests.

  • Operates information systems to create, collect, process, disseminate, use, store, protect, and dispose of information.

  • Develops, provides, and educates users on workflow capabilities and tools to comply with structured electronic processes and flexibility to create/develop ad hoc courses of actions.

  • Manages timeliness, accuracy, and maintenance of published content. Approves and publishes content through automated publishing tools.

  • Maintain SharePoint sites that meet standardized layout development, accessibility, and security standards.

  • Ensure information on SharePoint sites are approved by the local Public Affairs Office prior to publishing.

  • Provide user training on system to local end users, site owners, and Knowledge Managers (KMs) as required.

  • Assist in processing FOIA requests according to applicable laws, regulations, policies and local procedures.

  • Perform redactions to documents under the direction of the initial denial authority (IDA).

  • Preparing FOIA related correspondence for signature by a U.S. Government official.

  • Communicate with FOIA requesters concerning the status of the FOIA requests.

  • Entering relevant information into the Electronic FOIA (eFOIA) tracking system.

  • Assist with managing the Command Records Management Program.

  • Assist in maintaining a training program for newly assigned Record Professionals.

  • Assist in managing and maintaining the Air Force Records Information Management System (AFRIMS).

  • Assist with command publications and forms program administration, providing guidance and assistance to organizational personnel.

  • Reviews publications and forms to ensure compliance with applicable guidance before publishing.

  • Assist in processing publications and forms actions to include tracking, reviewing, posting and maintaining.

  • Promote privacy awareness throughout the organization and reinforce the protection of personal information (PII).

  • Assist in processing privacy breach reports and provide direction to organizations where a breach has occurred.

  • Provide direction to program managers for properly completing review of system of record notices (SORN) and Privacy Impact Assessments (PIA).


Qualifications

Bachelors and three (3) years or more of related experience; Masters and one year of related experience.  In lieu of a degree, four (4) years of additional experience is required.  In addition to ITIL Foundation.

Desired Qualifications

 

ITIL 4 Foundation certification or any ITIL v3 Intermediate certification.
