Join SAIC’s Information Technology (IT) Support Services Team in the Network Operations and Security Center (NOSC) of the US Air Forces Central Command (USAFCENT) Communications Directorate (A6). This opportunity places you at the tip of the spear for Engineering, Operations and Maintenance, Cyber Security, and Defensive Cyber Operations supporting the warfighter in the Southwest Asia area.
USAFCENT is the air component of United States Central Command (USCENTCOM), a regional unified command. USAFCENT, in concert with its coalition, joint and interagency partners, delivers decisive air and space power on behalf of USCENTCOM for the security and stability of the Southwest Asia (SWA) region. The USAFCENT NOSC delivers cyberspace command and control (C2) superiority to the warfighter by engineering, implementing, securing, managing, operating and maintaining USAFCENT’s Non-Classified Internet Protocol Router Network (NIPRNet), Secret Internet Protocol Router (SIPRNet), USCENTCOM Partner Networks (CPN-X), and associated C2 networks, systems and services.
The USAFCENT NOSC executes the full-spectrum of IT services management and operations for USAFCENT networks 24 hour-a-day, 7 day-a-week (24/7); and is tasked by USCENTCOM to provide information assurance (IA) boundary intrusion detection and intrusion prevention for USCENTCOM components. Comprised of NOSC operations, operations support, cybersecurity, network engineering, and command support functions, the USAFCENT NOSC plans, engineers, installs, integrates, operates and maintains, protects and manages enterprise-wide network and systems architecture, infrastructure and services; and provides enterprise-level oversight to its subordinate and supported communications support activities.
Candidates will be working at Shaw AFB, SC and/or Lackland AFB, TX. Frequent temporary duty (TDY) and/or deployment travel to OCONUS locations in the USCENTCOM AOR is required to support sustainment, site surveys, installations, upgrades, integration, testing, troubleshooting and other mission-related requirements.
The candidate for this position provides solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity where analysis of situations or data requires a review of the variety of factors through frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques, and directs established guidelines, procedures and policies.
Web-Based Application Programmer/Developer:
Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs application software.
Conducts analysis and collaborates with subject matter experts in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for information storage, processing, presentation, manipulation, display, or reporting. End product may be special use, customized, or commercial software.
Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops autonomous services, desktop applications, web applications, scripts, and utility programs.
Specific duties for this position include, but are not limited to:
Manage local and remote web servers; coordinate the mirroring of remote webs with a central mirrored site.
Develop web pages and middleware applications using all versions of Hypertext Markup Language, and other server and client-side languages.
Optimize new and existing code for WAN performance.
Integrate graphics, charts, and custom art into web sites to provide maximum impact of content delivery.
Understand and apply AFI and DOD guidance on web development; ensures compliance, briefs management.
Write and update concept of operations for web policy and implementation.
Develop and manage training on materials, web pages, programming languages and third-party web applications used to support local and deployed internet and intranet web pages; includes classroom, and seminar training.
Manage work and project tasks of other web development contractors.
Review technical project documentation for final draft coordination and subsequent release. Includes assisting personnel with project documentation and web site development as needed.
Coordinate technical visits from Air Force and other military agencies, and Contractors.
Training Support Task: Contractor shall provide training support on web page development, content development, and maintenance. Develop procedures and best practice documents to be used by other web developers. Brief local and deployed web developers on standard practices, and AFI and DOD web development guidance to assist with web-based development of their products. Provide classroom training on an as required basis.
Web Based Applications and Servers Task: (See Section 5.1.5 Core Expertise): Contractor shall maintain Microsoft based web servers to include backups, disaster recovery, installation, troubleshooting, and data transfer. Contractor shall perform daily web server log review; comply with all security alerts to include loading patches and make registry changes to eliminate vulnerabilities. Web servers include the use of Microsoft SharePoint services (SPS) and SPS Portal servers.
Network Security Task: Contractor shall use security toolset to determine web server security weaknesses and shortfalls. Research and coordinate vulnerability finding with Security Analysis to provide fix actions. Apply security patches and validates compliance with security guidance.
Bachelors and two (2) years or more experience; Masters and 0 years related experience. In lieu of a degree, four (4) years of additional experience is required. In addition the following certifications and skills are required: Security + or CCNA-Sec, MCP – Server, MCSD, and ITIL Foundation.
