JOB DESCRIPTION:

 
  • Performs environmental analysis, typically in assessing, analyzing, researching and ensuring environmental policy compliance with pertinent Federal, state and local environmental regulations, which may include CERCLA, CAA, and RCRA.

  • May perform research and assessment of data; develop or prepare reports, surveys, descriptive charts, figures or matrices for compliance and specific application of these items.

  • May involve preparation of information in support of environmental policy development or administration, including litigation support.

  • May include permitting procedures for projects.

  • Must have knowledge of Federal, state and local environmental regulations.

  • Frequent use and application of industry practices, techniques, and standards. General application of concepts and principles.

  • Receives assignments in the form of objectives and establishes goals to meet outlined objectives.

  • PROBLEM COMPLEXITY: Participates in the development of solutions to a variety of problems moderate in scope and complexity. Often refers to policies, procedures and practices for guidance.

  • FREEDOM TO ACT: Works under general direction on routine work. May receive detailed instructions on new projects or assignments. Follows established procedures. Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment, overall adequacy and accuracy.

  • IMPACT: Contributes to the completion of organizational projects and goals. Errors in judgment or failure to achieve results would normally require a moderate expenditure of resources to correct.

  • LIASON: Frequent internal company and external contacts. Represents organization on specific projects.

 
 

JOB DUTIES:

 
  • This position will support the environmental programs for the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane Division Environmental Protection Office located at Naval Support Activity (NSA) Crane and focuses on drinking water, radon, and land application. 

  • Performs environmental analysis, typically in assessing, analyzing, researching and ensuring environmental policy compliance with pertinent Federal, state and local environmental regulations.

  • May perform research and assessment of data; develop or prepare reports, surveys, descriptive charts, figures or matrices for compliance and specific application of these items.

  • May involve preparation of information in support of environmental policy development or administration.

  • May include permitting procedures for projects.

  • Must have knowledge of Federal, state and local environmental regulations.

  • Frequent use and application of industry practices, techniques, and standards.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE:
 
  • High School/GED and (7) seven years’ experience or Associates and (5) five years’ experience or Bachelors and three (3) years of experience; Masters and (1) one year of related experience.
  • Must be able to obtain a Full DOD Secret Security Clearance.
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen

Desired Qualifications

 

  • Must possess good oral and written communications skills and be familiar with PC Microsoft applications.
  • Position requires good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Must be able to work in a busy environment and meet hard deadlines for the Government customer.
  • HAZWOPER certification preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Previous experience with Department of Defense and/or Department of Navy environmental activities will be beneficial
  • Familiarity with water, wastewater, and soil sampling techniques and analysis reports.
