SAIC is looking for a well-qualified Systems Administrator to join an
exciting program in Springfield, VA. The successful candidate will be a
self-starter with a willingness to learn.
- Provides day-to-day operational maintenance,
support, and upgrades for desktop computers (multiple operating systems
applications, and workstations), video teleconferencing, and Voice over
Internet Protocol (VoIP) phone systems to the user base.
- Coordinates, directs and performs software
installations and upgrades to operating systems and software packages.
- Works closely with Network and Systems Analysts
to help determine and develop the systems that will be implemented.
- Applies technical standards, principles,
theories, concepts and techniques to meet outlined objectives.
- Recommends solutions to a variety of technical
problems where analysis of situations or data requires a review of the variety
- Follows established procedures and exercises
judgement within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate
- May receive detailed instructions on new
projects or assignments.
- An active Top
Secret clearance with eligibility for access to sensitive compartmented
- The ability to
complete a counter-intelligence scope polygraph (CSP)
Education / Experience
- Minimum 3 - 7 years of experience
working with customers to resolve information technology (IT) related challenges.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information
Technology, Computer Sciences or a related discipline from an accredited
university AND Two (2) years or more of relative experience
years of experience can be accepted in lieu of a degree.
Certifications & Professional Training
- An associates or
higher level college degree in an appropriately computer-related field
from an accredited university [OR] or one of the following certifications:
- The CompTIA
The CompTIA Network+CE certification, or
International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium, Inc.
(ISC2) Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP); or
training by the U.S. Navy as specified in Secretary of the Navy (SECNAV)
Manual 5239.2, Cyberspace Information Technology [AND] Cybersecurity
Workforce Management [AND] Qualification Manual, for an apprentice-level
specialty area 41, Customer Service And Technical Support, under the
Operate & Maintain category
- An active Top Secret
clearance with access to SCI;
- Having completed a
counter-intelligence scope polygraph (CSP) within the last five (5) years;
- Certifications on
Microsoft Windows operating systems (Windows 7 or newer)
- Effective communication
and customer service skills.
