SAIC has an exciting position within the ARCENT Readiness Training Center – Kuwait (ARTC-KU) Training Support Team (TST) provide training to US Soldiers and Marines. The TST is comprised of operational planners and trainers based at Camp Buehring, Kuwait and provides training support for USARCENT tenant and rotational units in the CENTCOM AOR. The Counter/Small Unmanned Aerial Systems Trainer provides training on the use of UAS platforms and employment of counter-measures required for effective operations in the CENTCOM Area of Operations. Tasks include:

 

 

Provide large audience classroom instruction and/or small team or individual training in an austere environment for up to 8 hours daily.

 

 

 

Develop and maintain the skills necessary to operate and fly non-standard tactical nano, micro, and small multi-rotor UAS as well as commercial off the shelf multi-rotor UAS platforms.

 

 

 

Develop and maintain currency and situational awareness on current threat drone employment and latest sUAS platforms and C-UAS systems

 

 

 

Stay relevant with updates of trends and emerging technologies provided by JIDO, AWG, USARCENT, and other in-theater assets.

 

 

 

Develop and maintain expert level understanding of C-UAS/sUAS principles and fundamentals, defeat drills, fixed site security defense principals, and air mission planning in a combat environment.

 

 

 

Develop and maintain SME level knowledge on new equipment employment, operation, manning, and troubleshooting.

 

 

 

Support Program of Instruction (POI) development, design, certification, execution, and modification/update processes.

 

 

 

Know and understand lane training methodology as well as employ and operate standard and non-standard tactical nano, micro, and small rotor sUAS platforms in support of Situational Training Exercise (STX) lanes.

 

 

 

Research and develop a working knowledge of Classes of platforms and airspace deconfliction, in order to instruct how to coordinate use of systems within an AOR.

 

 

 

Participate in the maintenance of all training areas assigned to the team. Ensure each site is prepared for training and is IAW prescribed safety standards established by ASG-KU.

 

 

 

Responsible for the accurate accountability of assigned equipment.

 

 

 

Deploy and provide sUAS and/or C-UAS training support as a member of a Mobile Training Team (MTT) within the CENTCOM AOR.

 

 

 

Maintain currency with new and shifting Army and USMC doctrine.

 

 

 

Maintain working relationships with AWG, REF, and tenant and rotational units.

 

 

 

 

Qualifications

 

OIF/OEF Combat Arms and/or Operational experience with a strong tactical background.



Knowledge of current Army operational doctrine.

 

 


Must be willing to live and operate in austere conditions.

 

  


Must be able to pass all CRC requirements IAW current CENTCOM guidance

 

 


Must have a Secret Clearance

 

 


Must possess Microsoft Office computer skills (Word, Power Point, Excel).

 

 

 

Desired Qualifications

 

Demonstrated work experience as it relates to the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities outlined in the description of responsibilities and duties. 



Infantry or Cavalry Scout, or FA Forward Observer background preferred or qualified through like experience as determined by the Site / Exercise Support Manager. 



Operational or instructional experience with the PD100, InstantEye Mk 2, Nibbler, or other nano, micro, or small UAS platforms Operational or instructional experience with man-portable or larger C-UAS Systems. 



Platform Instructor Experience (ABIC preferred). Effective oral and written communication skills. Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
