Job Description: Works independently or leads teams in the analysis and study of complex aviation technical and operational issues. Develops, analyzes, evaluates and advises on methods and techniques to improve the safety and operational performance of the air transportation system. Based on analysis conclusions and study findings, prepares draft detailed recommendations on methods, procedures to apply and alternative methods or means to improve the air transportation system. Utilizes and applies knowledge of web information technology and associated tools such as micro media flash, adobe, sharepoint, etc. to provide an information format for Government and industry personnel and the general public
Skills: Aviation experience, knowledge of UAS, knowledge of the FAA, and the FAA Safety Management System (SMS). Requires Aviation safety background, experience in trend analysis, data Analytics, data collection, and data mining. Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communication (experience with presenting and messaging to varying audiences). Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills, business and political acumen. Highly organized and capable of working collaboratively in a team environment or independently. Require Computer Skills: Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel using pivot tables, data collection, Data Analytics, and data mining. Highly proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint. Requires intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Access, Microsoft Project, and VISIO. Experience with Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) (writing macros). Basic experience with Prezi and HuddleAU is desired.
Job Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and 10 years of direct aviation experience concerning flight operations and, as appropriate, experience as a pilot with a commercial or airline transport pilot rating. Bachelor’s Degree may be waived with 12 years of experience in performing the above duties.

Required clearance is an SF-85P completed on site by the FAA.
