SAIC is seeking an experienced Systems Test Engineer to provide scientific analysis and test planning support for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction Office (CWMD) office in support of test campaign designs, planning, execution, analysis, and reporting of radiation detection systems.  Critical analytical skills are necessary.  Proficiency in the application of analytic methods and analysis tools is required to provide decision makers with a quantitative basis for the evaluation of radiation detectors in support of acquisition decisions. Responsibilities may include some or all of the following: 

  • Collaborate with DHS components and National Laboratories to plan and execute test events.

  • Authoring technical documents to include analysis plans, test plans, and test reports; Support the development of test briefs, daily reports, and summary reports.

  • Identifying, tracking, and managing schedules and technical risks within the CWMD testing process.

  • Providing on-site test support.

  • Developing test and analysis tools, which accurately and efficiently process and display data meaningfully.

  • Identifying and executing test process improvement strategies.

  • Using statistical design of experiment methods to develop test plans and procedures

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical or scientific field
  • 3 years of combined experience in systems engineering process management
  • 4 years of combined data analysis experience in test and evaluation or related fields (i.e., system engineering, data analytics, test documentation development, data mining, and/or modeling and simulation).
  • Possess or able to qualify for a DoD security clearance.
  • Able to obtain a DHS suitability clearance.
  • Basic knowledge of radiological/nuclear material detectors.
  • Able to use analytical/statistical tools to optimize test designs, determine sample sizes, and model performance.
  • Can analyze large amounts of test data and display results in a meaningful way (graphics, table, diagrams, etc.)
  • Experience using common analysis/visual software suites and programming languages. Examples include but are not limited to MATLAB, LabVIEW, MS Excel, Command Line Interfaces, SQL, and Python.
  • Able to work independently and within dynamic team environments.
  • Excellent written, communication, presentation, and technical skills.
  • Can travel to provide onsite support.

  • Interdisciplinary knowledge of research experience in ChemBio.
  • Ability to implement current analytical techniques to conduct research and development studies.
  • Oversee ChemBio testing to endure compliance of all testing performed.
