SAIC is currently looking for information technology professionals who are interested in supporting the Air Force National Capital Region Information Technology Services (AF NCR ITS) as technical, logistics, and subject matter experts (SMEs).
The AF NCR ITS Team will provide professional, administrative, technical, logistics, and management support for the U.S. Air Force’s 844th Communications Group (844 CG) as the service provider to the Air Force District of Washington AFDW. For the AFDW and Air Force units throughout the NCR, the 844 CG mission includes supporting and providing input for accomplishing the programming, budgeting, financing, implementation, operations, support, and maintenance of assigned technology systems, including critical support for the Office of the Secretary of the Air Force and elements of the Headquarters, U.S. Air Force. Support requires work to have work performed at Joint Base Andrews (Andrews AFB) in Maryland.
This specific position will support Enterprise Configuration Management area as part of the Asset Management (Hardware and Software) team. The candidate will help deploy, secure, sustain, and provide reliable access to all systems and configuration and monitoring tools necessary to maintain service uptime to achieve the needs of the organization.
JOB DESCRIPTION: Establishes and implements hardware and software acquisition, protection, maintenance and retention policies, standards and procedures that are aligned with IT standards and strategy. Investigates available hardware and software products, evaluates and recommends products based on user requirements. Coordinates with the procurement function to interview, select and negotiate with hardware and software vendors in order to purchase the appropriate equipment at the lowest cost. Reviews licenses and/or contracts to ensure that hardware and software equipment is covered by the contract and properly documented.
TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and two (2) years or more experience; Masters and 0 years related experience
